Laura, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
During my nearly a decade of nannying for a number of different families with kids of all ages, I learned how to take charge of the household and understand the bigger picture. Having picked up on all the little things involved with motherhood, I found myself being called on by a number of mommies-to-be to consult them on where to begin and how to make decisions in an overwhelming world of choices.
While exploring how to support mothers from a broader standpoint in a more entrepreneurial setting, I discovered Your Milk Shoppe as a perfect platform to help others.
I am a native Atlantan and was born in Buckhead. I love my in-town life and can’t wait to bring Your Milk Shoppe “ITP”!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This is a brand-new concept to most people and the brand, while successfully proven in other markets, has yet to be established in the Atlanta area. Getting clients to try something new always involves telling our story over and over, but it’s a compelling one and a lot of people are starting to “get it”!

Your Milk Shoppe offers affordable maternity services to mothers from the beginning of their pregnancy into the many years of parenting ahead. Our goal is to empower and lift up moms by assisting them in planning for their new arrival and providing them with many helpful tools and resources along the way. Your Milk Shoppe is the milk that keeps the moms alive throughout their parenting journey – because moms need milk, too!
Your Milk Shoppe has completed rigorous professional training through Baby Planner, Inc. and Baby Planner University which reflects dedication to outstanding client management, service, and business practices.

What were you like growing up?
Ever since I can remember, I have always been a helper toward mothers in my circle. When I was only eight, our neighbor would drop her infant off with me while she would run to the grocery store! Perhaps partly because I was an only child and developed an adult-like view of the world, I’ve always been comfortable taking on responsibility in other people’s homes. I started babysitting when I was twelve – by contrast, I can tell you about some twelve-year-olds whose parents still think they need a sitter.
