Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Wallace.
Lee, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
NOWME began after I went through my own fitness journey. It was 2017 when I decided I would focus on myself and go on a journey to ” get myself together”. I started out by participating in a challenge where I was held accountable to stick to my physical goal. The challenge was physical, but I used that time to also work on my relationships, face some battles within, and work on my spirituality. I won the challenge and I felt amazing about my overall progress in such a short period of time. People from all over were messaging me about my journey and were inspired.
I’ve always had a heart for helping and serving others, and I knew I had to take care of myself first so that I can truly be of service to someone else. The problem I had when helping others is the responses I would receive. People would contact me, I would give them the tools, check back in and then there was an excuse as to why they were not utilizing the information or sticking to their goals. I found that businesswomen, entrepreneurs, and mothers put everything in the world before taking care of themselves. Whether it’s their husbands, kids, and/or work, there was always some excuse about time or obligations. My question would be, when do you have time for yourself? Can you not say “now me” for 15 – 60 minutes a day?
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Haha. Definitely not! Some of my struggles have been within and others have been accepting ” no’s ” from people. It’s a journey. People are not always excited about focusing on themselves because it requires them to actually focus on themselves. Haha…That’s the irony of it. A lot of us run from ourselves which creates roadblocks for ourselves. People will reach out to me wanting the information but then don’t put it to use. This was a challenge and an obstacle for me. I want people to be as successful as I am. As a new trainer, I had to come up with a business plan that would help hold people accountable and produce results despite their circumstances.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the NOWME story. Tell us more about the business.
Look at the word women. Scrambled in the word women is the word NOWME. NOWME is a community of women who wear various hats. Some are doctors, mothers, lawyers, travelers, and community activists, but these women recognize their need to take time out to say “now me.” At NOWME we promote physical fitness through virtual training and healthy eating through nutritional education. With NOWME you have an accountability partner, an encourager, and a motivator to live a healthy and balanced life. What sets us apart is not only the experience and knowledge about fitness and nutrition but the experience and knowledge with helping others take the time to find what works best for them. The formula does not change, but how it’s delivered does for each individual person. Nowme is looking for women to partner with who are ready to go on a journey to bettering themselves by finding their balance of taking care of self, family, business, work, and friends. It is very easy to lose ourselves amongst all the things we have to do each and every day. It’s time to find time for yourself and say “NOWME” while still prospering in every area of life!
What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
Sports! I love being active and being amongst driven people with a common goal. As I got older, I lost sight of how much sports, nature, and teams lead me to a feeling fulfillment. It wasn’t until I started to reevaluate my lack of enthusiasm for life that I realized that I wasn’t doing the main things that lead to the feeling joy and peace.
