Meet Leo Marshall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leo Marshall.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up in Los Angeles gave me the opportunity to be on set, behind the scenes at events, involved in productions and living in that scene. One of the things I am known for is beautiful visuals and lighting. I attribute that to the passion for production that started when I was younger. I brought that behind-the-scenes knowledge with me when I moved to Atlanta.

When I first moved here, I was blessed to be able to produce the Atlanta Spirit & Splendor Fashion Show. I helped bring in designers, celebrities and models from around the world for the event. After that show, Versace, Calvin Klein, Sean John, and others brought me on board to produce fashion events across the area.

Working closely with clothing lines and models lead me to get behind the camera. My inspiration is finding the beauty and story in everything and capturing it through my lens. That allowed me to travel the world drawing attention from a wide variety of high-end clientele, including musical artists, actors, athletes, modeling agencies, international publications, and multi-million corporations. I have worked with legends such as Gladys Knight, Serena Williams, 50 Cent, T.I., Monica, Vivica Fox, Gabrielle Union, and an endless list of celebrities.

Since that first fashion show, my company has evolved into a full-service production company.

Has it been a smooth road?
Building a business is not always a smooth road. It is typically the path less traveled, which always involves more work than anticipated. You have to make your own way, find others who have the same goals and help each other as you build.

Owning your own business is a 24/7 job. There will always be something to do, emails to return and people or things who need your attention. Finding balance can be a struggle, but if you truly love what you do, it will be worth it.

The destination of finding success or creating the perfect image for a client makes the entire journey worth it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Leo Marshall Creative – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company is Leo Marshall Creative (LMC). We are a full-service production company offering award-winning video production, graphic design, multimedia services, photography and full-service event production.

My specialty is creating beautiful visuals utilizing strategic lighting techniques. It is an art form that I constantly study and work to evolve in. This industry utilizes technology that is constantly changing and updating. It is important to stay on top of new techniques while building on the foundation of skills I learned throughout the years.

My work has been published in publications such as Rolling Stone, Upscale Magazine and Allure. I have shot and directed commercials for brands like Coca-Cola, Doritos, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport, Seagrams, Chase Bank, AT&T, The Atlanta Falcons, and some of the largest beauty brands in the world. Productions have been based in the United States, as well as overseas in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Dominican Republic, and St. Martin.

As a company, I am most proud of finding success in every day. It is so motivating to hear the joy in a model’s voice when she calls after seeing her image on a billboard for the first time or an actor sending a video after seeing their commercial air for the first time.

I feel that my inspiration behind it all is simple: find the beauty and story in everything and capture it through my lens. This philosophy has driven me to perfect a creative vision. This allows my team and I to provide a superior in-studio atmosphere, and ultimately sets LMC apart from others. We always bring positivity, enthusiasm, laughter, and an atmosphere conducive to the creative spirit with us to every production.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is really growing as an influential city for movies, films, and media, in general. I like the spirit of community you find here. Everyone knows everyone and most people genuinely want to help others create.

I miss the beaches in LA, so being far away from the ocean is my least favorite thing about Atlanta.
