Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Zinn.
Hi Leslie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Arden’s Garden started in 1995, when my mom, Arden, purchased an expensive cold press juicer. To make herself feel better and justify this purchase, she offered to make free juice for all her friends. A local health food store heard about her and asked her to make juice in the back of their store. She recruited my brother and me to help with the labor-intensive task of operating the cold press juicer. After nine months, no one was getting paid. As a last-ditch effort, we asked mom to try to sell the juices in Buckhead. We had other ideas of where she should go, but mom chose to market to hair salons. That decision turned our entire business around. Now, 25 years later, we offer cold-pressed juices, made-to-order smoothies, juice shots, and a variety of plant-based snacks and salads. We have two production facilities in East Point, 17 retail store locations throughout Metro Atlanta, and more than 1,000 partners in the Southeast region.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not always. Our products were discontinued by Publix in 2003 – one of our biggest wholesale customers at the time. But, thanks to the hundreds of community members in Atlanta who reached out to the grocery chain, we were not only brought back into Publix, but our reach throughout Publix was expanded by hundreds of stores.
We’ve been impressed with Arden’s Garden, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We love spreading “good health for all” by providing fresh, healthy products at an affordable price. We often donate and participate in food drives and partner with local non-profits as well.
Arden’s Garden believes that health is wealth, and we strive to provide that through our cold-pressed juices, cleanses and detoxes, immune-boosting shooters, plant-based and vegan-friendly salads, soups, and snacks. We have always been committed to serving our community.
