Today we’d like to introduce you to Levi Harrell.
Levi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My business started in college while working on a marketing project. Often times, most people develop a fake business idea for the sake of completing the assignment and getting a grade. However, I decided to outline a potential business idea. During my presentation, I passed out real flyers to an event I called, “The 51 Minds Campaign” where 51+ individuals (Of diverse backgrounds) came together at Centennial Olympic Park to network and host a photo shoot for my marketing materials. I also gave them a free headshot as many of them had never had one before. The goal was to motivate each of them to find the strength to go after their goals, dreams, and aspirations. While also connecting them with like-minded people who can help them along the way. We had aspiring actors, singers, speakers, engineers, event planners, students, authors, entrepreneurs, and so much more. So many ethnicities were displayed as well such as Cambodian, German, Indian, African, Caucasian, etc. This was what would later birth the concept of Levi Harrell Enterprises. I have had the privilege of working behind the scenes in the lives of many prolific artists, speakers, teachers, Pastors, authors, and leaders both locally and internationally. I have also helped provide strategizes to many business and organizations. If I’m honest I didn’t even realize I was gifted in this area until someone brought it to my attention saying “Levi do you see the impact your causing? You’re influential!” It took me some time to really grasp that as it was only my desire to help people see what I’ve always seen in them. Sometimes we all just need a little push and insight from a different perspective. I also think my desire to push others came from the lack of support I’ve sometimes felt I lacked in certain areas. So, out of this Levi Harrell Enterprises is a company that has so many aspects to it but the overall vision is to empower, inspire, and equipped people to live their best lives. I do this by way of hosting seminars, speaking at schools, authorship, one-on-one coaching and consulting. I also have a T-Shirt line that has one of my taglines “The Next Thing God Does Will Be Exceedingly and Abundantly.” This shirt was inspired by the scripture Ephesians 3:20. The shirt surprisingly reached all the way to London and South Africa blessing many people. I also have a book that I wrote called, “Young Sir: 12 Principles For Becoming A Man of Character, Commitment, and Courage. This book describes principles I’ve learned while navigating the terrains of manhood without a consistent male figure in my life. I can’t wait for the world to read it. It’s for young men but a woman will benefit from it too as it allows you to understand the mindset of a young boy into a young man. I also went on tour to different schools for the “Confront Student Empowerment Tour” where I spoke to thousands of students teaching them how to confront their fears while also confronting the obstacles that would hinder them from achieving their goals and dreams. (All of these products can be found to order on my website) I recently just launched the education & counsel division of my company called “Strat.i.jee” pronounced Strategy. This is the legal entity of the things I’ve mentioned that I do in terms of sitting with companies, leaders, organizations, churches etc. to help them make a strategic plan for their career, firm, and personal life. It’s super fun! However, Life was not always easy for me. I was born in Connecticut to a single mother who worked her but off to make sure my brothers and I had a good life. In that effort we had days have we had no electricity, little food, no heat, getting evicted, basically homeless and a host of other things. in the midst of all of that though we never lost our joy and our bond. My mom always seemed to find strength in the midst of chaos and it taught me how to look at pain from a positive perspective. I learned how to be strong and endure at an early age. It didn’t feel good then but I am grateful for every life lesson because I now use it in my business to inspire others. It’s funny because people see now and think I have it all together. They see Levi the award-winning speaker, Pastor, author, CEO, and recipient of the Goodwill Ambassador award from the secretary of state Brain Kemp. Yet people don’t know the half of the story. I’ve been laid off from jobs, lost cars, lost money but in the end, I never lost my courage. I realized that my purpose is not attached to material things but my purpose is who I am. I can go on and on with stories of ups and downs but in a nutshell, I’ve turned my pain into a motivational business to inspire and equip others for success. This has allowed me to travel and speak to so many people and serve as a force of change and encouragement in their lives!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not a smooth road at all. On my journey to success prior to being a business owner and afterward I have lost my car, riding the Marta train to meet clients. I’ve been fired from multiple jobs (Even though they said I was great at my job) I’ve had relationship issues. financial issues, family issues and more. I dealt with self-sabotaging thoughts. standing in my own way.
Please tell us about Levi Harrell Enterprises & Strat.i.Jee.
I (the business) am known most for public speaking. One of my main functions is speaking at schools, commencement ceremonies, church, businesses, etc. I also host events as well.
We specialize in tailoring empowerment speeches to the demographic. For example, I have spoken to students in kindergarten all the way to CEO’s twice my age. From juvenile detention centers to church board meetings.
We provide counsel in terms of branding, marketing, planning, organizing, outlining, motivating and providing real-life tools for success.
I believe that, I am set apart from others because I actually take the time to listen. I am also very good at discerning and reading between the lines. I am also very honest. I don’t meet with people or clients that I feel are not ready. I don’t believe in wasting time. Also, if I am not inspired by the person, church, or business I don’t work with them. If it’s not an organic connection, I don’t take on the project.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have taken more time to understand how to monetize my services better. Because, I love what I do so much I have done way more than what I was compensated for. I have been taken advantage of so many times because of my heart. However, I have learned that lesson but, I do wish I learned it earlier.
