Today we’d like to introduce you to Lex The Flex.
Lex, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started filming and taking pictures when I was six years old, as an apprentice for my grandfather’s photography business. He taught me about getting shots, being discreet, how to do radio and other things. So I have always had a passion for my craft.
When it was time for college, I naturally became a Communications major. This helped develop my shooting and editing skills. After graduation in 2017, I did small projects for fun and to stay fresh with my editing, but I never considered going into business until December 2018. Since then, I’ve come into many cool opportunities, met some great people and have been traveling to a lot of places I love to go or have never been.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been as smooth as I expected! I stepped out on faith to fulfill my dream, and God tests your faith to make sure you can handle what he wants to give you. There have been weeks where there was no business, times where I didn’t know how I was going to make it to a gig or edit my footage. But at the end of the day, I pray and stay humble, and God works it out for me. That’s what makes the journey smoother, and because of that, I’m living my dream faster than I ever expected to!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with FLEX Media – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Thing that I’m proud of the most is all the opportunities I get to travel to new places and network with people from all over!
FLEX Media shoots all kinds of events. Whether you need headshots to start your acting career, a commercial for your business or you need someone to film your destination wedding, I do it all! My niche is being a personal photographer, and it makes people feel good, important, and proud to say that they have one! This sets me apart from other companies because by being a personal photographer, my clients know that their needs/wants are put first and that they’ll receive quality every time.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that our city is so versatile and full of different types of art and artists. I’ve lived in another, smaller city for about five years, and there’s no place like Atlanta! From the fashion to the way people talk, to the graffiti in different areas, it’s all so very dope! Our city is unique and needs all aspects of it captured! The only thing I don’t like about our city is how bad traffic has gotten.
