Meet Lex Turner Jr. of Rebel Revamp Marketing Agency in Fayetteville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lex Turner Jr.

Lex, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always been a “digital geek” for as long as I can remember. After finishing up my master’s degree in Montgomery, Alabama, I lost my passion for the field I had worked so hard to start my career in. It was one of the hardest reality pills I’ve come to terms with thus far. I decided to take a leap of faith and begin something new and out of my comfort zone. I remember being so confused, anxious, happy and scared all at the same time. I felt I was seriously experiencing the “soul searching” phase head-on now that I can finally admit.

At the end of my lease, without warning, I left and told Alabama goodbye. I wasn’t comfortable with myself around this time because I wasn’t ready to come to terms with tackling depression and anxiety. I became so withdrawn, especially with it being my first time leaving a life I had known and was content with for so long. It was during this huge milestone for me that I began finding different outlets that made me genuinely happy. After settling in North Carolina, I enrolled in a community college and decided to shift my career path towards business, technology, and entrepreneurship. While studying business and technology is where I soon caught interest in marketing via social media platforms. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wanted to use skills to give people better opportunities in bringing their visions to life while working for myself at the same time.

During a time where I felt so much in my life was falling apart, little did I know, things were ultimately working in my favor. January of 2019, I launched my self-owned marketing business that I felt truly described me as a creator, Rebel Revamp Marketing Agency. My goal was to help entrepreneurs enhance their brands appeal to gain better visibility in such a competitive marketing industry. I wanted entrepreneurs to know that there were greater rewards in remaining authentic to their visions for their brands and that I would assist them on our entrepreneurial journeys as a marketing specialist.

Since launching, the support has been amazing nevertheless. So many were open to using my digital marketing services. I have found this happy place like never before, I’m in a much better space since taking that leap of faith. Being able to do something I am so passionate about has been fulfilling and rewarding. I’m so excited to see what’s in store for my brand. I finally have learned that my purpose here is not to explain my decisions or lifestyle, but to simply experience it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My entrepreneurial journey has definitely not been easy for me. I know often social media can “glamorize” the process, but the first initial “speed bump” for me was learning to balance my mental health on top of coping with chronic illnesses. It’s difficult to explain when your body literally feels like its being crushed and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. There are times when I feel like a prisoner in my body and other times I feel on top of the world. Days I’m confined to my bed, without an appetite, or force myself to sleep to escape the pain. After being on so many medications and undergoing so many treatment options since I was 16, I finally found the courage to walk away from it all together into a more holistic method.

Gaining my strength back after muscle loss and nerve damage can interfere with my work at times. It can be frustrating, but I have to remind myself that this is all a part of my journey and to be more patient with myself.
Tackling both chronic pain and mental exhaustion has been the biggest struggle thus far. I’m still learning to take it one day at a time. On days when I feel my best, I can admit that’s when I can overdo it at times. But I’m not perfect and still figuring this thing out.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Rebel Revamp Marketing Agency is a freelance marketing agency aimed to assist small businesses with enhancing their brand’s visibility via social media or traditional marketing strategies that will help generate leads, boost conversions, and increase engagements. RRMA specializes in digital services, mostly achieving digital marketing and branding goals by creating and sharing appealing, yet authentic content.

I would definitely have to say that my “Rebel Revamp” service(s) is what I’m known for. Being able to reconstruct and revamp a brand’s original theme/layout into a more professional polished feel is so worthwhile and has definitely allowed me to collaborate and network with some amazing entrepreneurs. I am most proud of as a company of the environment I have created as a professional. Being able to not only accommodate clients but being able to still use the skills obtained during both my undergrad and graduate years has allowed me to better understand and assist.

Remaining authentic, without setting limitations when it comes to creating, I have to say sets me apart from others. Remembering why I started this journey, keeps me humble throughout it all.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a bookworm or interested in some type of digital device. I was often labeled as “shy”, but in reality, I’ve always been very observant. Always laughing at something hilarious, a really great sense of humor.
