Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Coleman.
Lindsey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I worked for Ghosts of Marietta under the previous owners for several years. I was a tour guide for the ghost tours, history tours, and worked in their office. When they decided to close down the business, it was a no brainer for my husband and I to purchase it. We love Marietta so much and getting to share our love with our tour guests.
Has it been a smooth road?
Figuring out how to transition to a night-time business with three young children and balancing the work from home lifestyle has been a bit of a challenge. Thankfully though, it’s been a fairly smooth road for us. We have had amazing tour guides and friends and family who have been such a wonderful support system. Our fellow merchants on the square have also welcomed us with open arms.
Please tell us about Ghosts of Marietta.
Ghosts of Marietta has toured through our historic Marietta Square year-round. You learn a lot of history and haunted stories that merchants and residents have experienced. We have walking tours, pub crawls, and during certain seasons, trolley tours. We have guides who are paranormal investigators who have done personal investigations in several of the locations we talk about. We really want to be a staple in our city. We partner throughout the year with different schools, clubs, and non-profits to really try to support the community. In our first year, we won Best Scarecrow On the Square for Chalktoberfest and Best Tour Company for Best of Cobb!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Marietta Square has really welcomed us with open arms. We are fortunate that our business has such a specific niche that we really don’t have “competition.” I think more cities and small historic towns need to have tours of some sort. It’s a great way to bring visitors into some of the smaller towns.
