Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Smith.
Lisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I relocated to Atlanta from Greensboro NC in 1999, searching for more opportunity in Corporate America. With much influence from my sister; who at the time was a salon owner, I left Corporate in 2004 to pursue a career in cosmetology.
I enrolled in Pro Way Hair School. After graduating I worked at my sister’s salon to gain experience. I later worked at a few other salons.
In 2009, I found a cozy location on Mountain Industrial Blvd, where I’ve remained since 2009.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely a struggle. I was very unstable which made it impossible to maintain a steady clientele.
Please tell us about Hair Ndustry Salon Studio.
I am the owner and stylist at Hair Ndustry Salon Studio. What I am most proud of are the positive reviews that I’ve maintained, the retention and the quality of clientele that I have acquired over the years. My clients are beautiful people and I’m thankful that they chose my business for their hair care needs.
What sets me apart is the private setting I provide, punctuality and with a few exceptions, there is no double booking. Clients are able to get in and out in a timely fashion.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood were family trips to the country to visit my grandmother.
