Meet Lola Pierre of Goddess Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lola Pierre.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lola. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
This is all a fluke! A few years ago, I was part of a production team with a fashion show that took place on Earth Day. They had fashion however, there was nothing to represent Earth Day. I decided to create something out of newspaper. Prior to this, I never designed anything. My overly ambitious personality took the lead, did some research, and constructed two pieces to present in the fashion show. The Goddess Collection was born! This was back in 2017. Since then, I’ve participated in 4 different shows. An untapped talent that has become a source of serenity and Obsession.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am still in the process of learning who I am and where I belong in the fashion industry. I have so much respect for designers. The time and money spent on curating a line is endless. What I do isn’t really commercial, rather for the girl who wants to stand out and be that walking piece of art. I am now learning how to sew and construct pieces masterfully.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The Goddess Collection are gorgeous opulent designs derived from environmentally sound and sustainable items. Simply put, the use of paper, plastic and aluminum constructed in a way to become wearable art. Created in 2017 as a personal challenge to bring some creativity to The New Old School Earth Day fashion show. Now the crowning of an Earth Goddess has become a staple part of the show.

I do not consider myself a designer, rather a creative being with immense love for all types of expressive art forms. The use of unconventional items to dress the feminine form makes me smile and brings me peace. Through the process of upcycling, I can soothe my soul, create beautiful things and save the earth.

What were you like growing up?
I am very much an introvert with extroverted moments. I enjoy and need my me time but often like to get together with friends and just laugh. I was raised by a single father who constantly taught me the importance of being ladylike and respectful. A quality I still hold true and dear as an adult. I am very ambitious, caring, creative and determined on celebrating life as much as possible.
