Meet Lord Narf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lord Narf.

Hi Lord, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started off doing music really just as a joke. I first was doing a lot of poetry and putting it on to my blog on Tumblr. A lot of my friends (from awful records) would read some of my poems or just hear me freestyle a lot and they kept encouraging me to do music as well. I finally started putting songs on to SoundCloud as a joke and then people would catch on to them and actually like it. So it just started going up from there. Went from a joke to having to become a serious business and something I knew was my destiny.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road at all. One reason is because when I was starting as an underground female rapper, there wasn’t a lot of underground female rappers at the time so it was hard to be taken seriously. Also starting off with no real platform or any real income coming in it was just a struggle to be able to pay for things that I needed to get me what I needed for content, shows, recording equipment, videos, wardrobe, travel etc. I really had to get it out the mud and just work with little to nothing to get my music out and be heard.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a rapper who happens to also be into fashion and re-selling clothes. I had a good running depop business for almost 3 years. I feel like I am known mostly for my unique sound as a female artist. I don’t talk about what a lot of other females talk about in their content. I don’t really focus on my pussy or men a lot in my music and if I do I say it in a completely different way that more so I feel like if a man was listening to my music he could also shout the lyrics without feeling weird or feeling like those are words only a female can say. I really make music that women & men can equally bump to and that’s what I am most proud of. And with my style and fashion, I also wear a little bit of everything, I don’t have one style. I wear men’s clothing women’s clothing goth clothes hoe clothes hipster shit etc. I really think I appeal to the masses on all levels.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always known for being super energetic, super talkative, always performing always on stages whether it was cheerleading dance team gymnastics hella school plays step team, etc. I was always the performer. Never was a huge sports person. When iPods was a popular thing I was the one always putting music on everybody’s iPod cuz I was always known for being the girl that knew EVERY song. I was a huge music junkie with every genre. I also was super into dance. Everybody would call me “too crunk fran” (Francesca is my real name…fran was always my nickname and that’s how “narf” came about, “narf” is “fran” backwards) cuz I was the one at school turnt up in class tryna dance and rap lol
