Meet Louis McKnight of Solo Crow Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis McKnight.

Louis McKnight

Hi Louis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If I talk my life story, we’ll be here for quite a while, but what I will share is I imagine myself achieving all I place my mind to. I’ve been taking my creative experience and vision to new heights and want to be able to express my art form in not only Acting but also my journey into Writing, Directing, and Graphic Design. When I hone in on what interests me. I attach to it, and I do research on it to understand and improve my skillsets needed to be successful. You cannot be anything until you speak aloud of what you trying to pursue to the world! You cannot go anywhere until you do not speak out loud the destination you are wanting to go! Do not dim your light because others do not understand your vision. This is all of our first time living. Do not look at others in a manner because they fail to understand. It’s not their duty to understand. Those that you believe oppose you are only speaking to you on what they understand to protect you. I say it’s nice to hear the protection state of those that do not comprehend what you say. Just listen and continue to pursue your passion! Be all in on yourself. Others will see what you mean soon enough!

More about me, I truly love helping others. Creating opportunities for others to prosper brings me the most joy. I am the man I am today just by being consistent and constantly motivating myself. That, I can say, is a fight of its own daily. Let’s talk Solo Crow Films LLC and what I am trying to accomplish while I have the platform. Find us at: www.solocrowfilms.com; we’re a Film Production Company with a variety of services that understand the importance of the visual arts and guides you to the audience you’re wanting to attract. Our focus is not only to improve actors’ skills but giving them the industry knowledge they need for a successful career. We hold classes for beginners and advanced actors alike, specializing in preparation, giving you the tools and resources needed for Television and Motion Picture.

Currently, we’re working on a film called “Dirty Hands,” and I am excited to share about that film’s pre-production state and my mindset of mine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road is never smooth in my life, but I am always up for the challenge! This film, “Dirty Hands,” will be a complete masterpiece of mine! The cast and crew involved in this project bought in day 1 after speaking and talks of the project was finalized. A few struggles were inquiring about the locations and negotiating the times to film for each location. Another struggle is I work as an army of 1 and I struggle with asking for help because I do not want to lose control of the project by others’ ideas. Not only that my business side I do not like to do business with homies and close friends. Simply because I can come off as a certain way, and I do not want to lose a friendship over a small dispute of advice or anything negatively impactful. The solution: I got over that mindset and allowed others to assist in the project, but I also made myself open to advice to improve the process of Solo Crow Films projects!

I’ve been really uncomfortable, but finally opening myself to gaining assistance from others has been a breath of fresh air. Another struggle is accounting for others, making sure everyone is going to be present for the shoot. The way how things been going on our virtual practices I am more than confident we will have everyone present for the shoot! Keeping positive energy and people around is a must.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I want to talk the best team anyone can have! for the filming of “Dirty Hands”.

Let’s begin the team with a bang shall will, first we have:

Idris “IICE” Pearson is a writer, director, former Christian hip-hop artist, actor, and radio host. He was born and raised in Columbia, SC, and is the CEO of Children Of God (C.O.G.) Entertainment, which he established in 2011. He recently released his second short film, Forgiveness, which has been accepted into multiple film festivals. Idris has won best director at the Redhawk Crescent Indie Awards. Though he is more comfortable behind the camera, he will also step in front of the camera, giving his all to bringing a character to life if need be. Idris’ motto is “In order to lead you must first follow.” One of his favorite quotes, which came from Nelson Mandela, is, “I never lose; I either win or learn.”

Next, we have Kelly Montgomery Hutchings is an actress in Huntsville, AL that started her career on stage at the age of 5. She has been in over 15 productions in the Huntsville area. 3 years ago, she decided to try her hand at film and has been in love with it ever since. In the 3 years, she has been in 6 independent films, starring in 1, 3 commercials, 2 TV shows, did 6 characters in an audiobook, and was the lead in a competition film. It’s safe to say Mrs. Hutchings has found a love of film that she hopes to expand in the years to come. Also, Waseem was born in Atlanta, GA, to loving parents who fostered his interest in cinema and arts at an early age, often entrusting him with choosing the film the family would watch that weekend on their trip to the local Blockbuster. His first foray into performing came at the age of twelve when he played the role of Marc Antony in the play Julius Caesar. His early exposure to Shakespeare shaped his interest in theatre and performing. Most recently, Waseem was on stage for his role of Drew Avery in the play Where We’re Born written by Lucy Thurber. He was cast in his first feature film role in 2023 for the film “Eclipse on Blood Mountain” as well as the lead role of Cassian in the fan film adaption of the ACOTAR series Silverwork. Both these projects are in post-production and will be releasing at the end of 2024. When not performing on stage or in front of the camera, Waseem spends time writing and producing projects in an effort to better grasp the different aspects of filmmaking. Waseem has trained with Robert Mello in the Meisner Technique and has been a working actor in the Atlanta area for almost five years now.
