Meet Grimm Lynn of The Lovers Club in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grimm Lynn.

Grimm, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began writing music in high school as a freshman (2011) but it wasn’t until my freshman year of college (2015) that I was encouraged by my friends to actually record music. During the summer of 2016, I began to really hone in on creating my content and the recording process became second nature. That following summer (2017) I released my first project – Dark Tapes: Beauty in The Darkness. Putting together my first tape definitely boosted my confidence and assured that I was meant to express my forms of art through music. Since my debut; I’ve continued to deliver singles and visuals for my work and I have performed throughout the community.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all but there are more good days than bad ones for sure. Dealing with school, work, family, and financial stability is a lot to handle. Each of these has affected my mental health from time to time and I deal with dips of depression here and there, so it is challenging to at times to remain positive but strong faith is a key component. I know everyday can’t equate to a good day and making music isn’t as easy as people think, but taking things day by day and trusting the process overshadows all the negatives because I know my end goal is very important and that I need to focus on it more than anything else.

The Lovers Club – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Lovers Club is an experience. Our objective is to set off an array of vibes within our audience and bring out the emotions that sync our content, instrumental sound, and vocals with your eardrums. Not only do we provide the energy but we feed off of it as well and I believe that is what has helped us in terms of growth and stage presence when performing. We want to leave an imprint of LOVE wherever we are and we do this by performing these intimate sets equipped with organic vibrations – very different from today’s music in this city which is mostly trap and sing or rapping over sampled tracks.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, I’d define success as defying all odds. Setting goals and delivering before deadlines are crucial in every aspect of life, especially when trying to master a skill or profession. Of course, there will be minor setbacks during each phase of our career paths but it’s important to keep faith throughout our progressions so that we know the main objective is within reach and attainable.
