Today we’d like to introduce you to Lutoyua ToyToy Thompson.
Hi ToyToy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m the oldest of four siblings and growing up music was my #1 passion. My dreams were to be a successful music entertainer and actor, so it’s not surprising to many that I would land a career in Radio Broadcasting. I faced many challenges in life, including getting married and becoming a mom at the age of 16. But, now as I reflect on the many twist and turns, I can definitely say my life has been full of love, tough, and exciting, with much more to come.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Things haven’t always been easy. I lived out my dreams for a short time performing on stages with different artists. I went from being a successful business owner and entrepreneur to serving 18 months in a federal prison. Many would have given up, but quitting was never an option for me and never will be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m currently an On-Air Personality at Bluewater Broadcasting, Mid-days 9-2 pm/cst WJWZ 97.9 Jamz and Afternoons 2-7 pm/cst WQKS HD2 100.5 Classic Jamz. I’m also the Wine Ambassador for Moskato Life and we have provided amazing services to many celebrities and brands like BET, Essence, FunkFest, Love n Hip Hop Atlanta, Married 2 Medicine Atlanta and more. I am the founder and president of Fedmoms Support Group Organization Inc, which is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation that helps formerly incarcerated women and men, as well as members of the underserved community. Launching my very own podcast show called “The Real Chatty Podcast” and starting my clothing line is my next big venture. I’m thankful and blessed to be able to give back to my community and that will never change. If you were to ask, what I am the most proud of, then my answer would be that I am proud God gave me a heart to love, feelings to care about others, the strength to be strong when I’m at my weakest, and a family and group of friends who love me unconditionally.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I credit my two amazing kids, my family, my friends, my coworkers, and the many amazing people I’ve met along this journey. The most credit goes to my bestfriend who reached out to you guys for this interview, Chiquita Broadnax. She is the reason I’m finding the strength to share with you what she wanted me to share with the world, ME! However, sadly I lost my bestfriend of 17 years on Nov 30, 2022 to a tornado in Montgomery, Alabama. I also lost an amazing smart nephew, Cedarrius Tell who was Chiquitas eight year old son. I miss them both tremendously. She truly believed in me and loved me unconditionally. I will forever be grateful for the precious time God allowed me to share with my two Angels!
