Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynette Lynch.
Lynette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The high school I went too had a cosmetology program I was enrolled in! I got married and had my first child straight out of high school! I worked at a salon for a little while, but I changed career fields and went into banking. A few years ago, there was a story that had come out about an African American grandmother who was at a nail salon. She had gotten into an argument with one of the workers and was beaten by the staff with bamboo sticks! That same day I enrolled into nail school! Once I was a licensed nail technician, I worked at a salon for a few months. I decided to sell my home and invest in my own business and I opened up my salon suite located in Virginia Highlands!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Thank GOD, it hasn’t been hard! There is always a few bumps in the road of anything that you do! I did my research, I also had a small business prior, so I learned from previous mistakes!
Please tell us about The Pink Nail Society.
The Pink Nail Society is a full-service nail salon suite! At this moment, it is a one women show. My business is growing and I will soon be able to open a full salon and hire a full staff! I provide manicures, pedicures, and full sets! I’m known for my nail shaping and customer service! I provide a home-like feel, I make every client feel at home, and I honestly care about each and every person who steps through my door!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career has been opening my salon suite and the fact that I did it on my own so fast! So many people tried to talk me out of it!
