Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynnette Williams.
Lynnette, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Around my 30th birthday, I went to the doctor for my annual physical like normal. The doctor was going over my results which were very normal yet one thing that he said changed my life forever. He told me that because of my height to weight ratio, that I was considered obese and that I should think about losing weight in the near future to avoid other health issues.
Mind you, I was comfortably thick and thought that I could lose a few pounds, but I never would consider myself obese. I went to the gym 3 to 4 times a week, and ate fairly well!
It was at that moment in that office that I made up in my mind that I would lose weight one more time, for the last time. That was over eight years ago and I’ve never looked back. Two pregnancies in two years, I gained 30 and 35 pounds respectively and lost the weight within six weeks each time. I learned about nutrition and fitness and became a health coach because I wanted to educate people on healthy behaviors, not just to lose weight. I work with people all across the United States, Canada and the UK on adopting healthy behaviors for their life. There is no one-size-fits-all.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It absolutely has not been smooth all the way LOL! Losing weight is fairly easy. Keeping it off is the hard part. Learning healthy behaviors and not just worried about losing the weight is the difference between a lifestyle change and just doing something to get to a goal. It’s a total mind shift to look at food as fuel and not something that you do out of boredom or out of miseducation. All foods have energy to them and if you eat the wrong energy, and you wind up feeling really poor.
Operation Sexy Body – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a virtual coach so I pride myself on being able to work with any and everyone, no matter where they are in the world. Being overweight my entire life, I coach my clients from a “been there done that” -perspective. I struggled with food and my weight pretty much my entire life until I got it together. It’s my goal to help others get it together and live a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I think with sets me apart is that each and every person that messages me, I respond. I can’t tell you the number of times that I’ve reached out to people privately that just never respond. I think if people take the time to message me, the least I can do is respond to them. Sometimes it may take me a while, but I eventually get around to it LOL!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Each and every time I do my challenge groups, there is at least one person who has an aha moment and for me and never gets old. Seeing the lightbulb go off no matter how many times they tried before it’s truly a rewarding experience.
