Today we’d like to introduce you to Mackenzie Hallman.
Hi Mackenzie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Mackenzie Hallman and I’m 23 years old. A few random facts to get to know me: I’m a self-taught contortionist, I’m the oldest of ten children and I love all things spicy. Growing up I’ve always been a gymnast, super flexible too. I found a love for contortion around the age of 18. I started teaching myself how to contort my body in different ways. I then took what I learned from contortion to hand-balancing. I pretty much do handstands or balancing on anything I can find! I’ve always had a passion for all things fitness. From a small town in East Texas, I moved to Atlanta in 2015 to pursue my gymnastics coaching profession.
Settling into the ATL, I found a love for dance that I hadn’t had since I was probably four or five. I became a professional dancer for the Atlanta Gladiators. I was part of the inaugural season of professional hockey dancers here. It was a blast and I will forever be a Glads Girl! Fast forward a few years to 2020 and I’m now officially a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer! With my love for fitness and exercise, I want to help others achieve their fitness goals and dreams. Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. I can’t wait to share my knowledge and training with future clients so they can be and feel at their healthiest!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting to where I am now was not always smooth. I struggled the most when I left my family in Texas and came here alone to explore. Things got easier along the way, but it was difficult to leave the only thing I knew. Fitness and the people I’ve met through it have helped me tremendously.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most known for being a contortionist and being that “bendy person”! I always stood out with my flexibility before, but it wasn’t until I took it seriously that things got real.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Any fitness enthusiast or professional is welcome to collaborate with me via social media or in person. I’d love to get to know other Personal Trainer’s and collaborate with them on content for our clients.
