Meet Madhuri Patel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madhuri Patel.

Hi Madhuri, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Kansas to two immigrant parents. I grew up in Oklahoma for 20+ years. In Oklahoma, I received two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma. I became a nurse in 2018 and started my career in medical-surgical. I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2019 and started a new job post-surgery. I also started my Masters to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. During COVID-19, I got burnt out working in the hospital while also attending school. I decided to look for a clinic job that had better work hours to have a better work/life balance. I became an Aesthetic Nurse Injector in 2021 and fell in love immediately. I was always a fan of skincare/healthy lifestyle/beauty. I started my Instagram page in 2020 for fun and have loved sharing what I know. I decided to put my daily love of skincare into my work and have a better balance for my mental health. I graduate in December 2022 and plan to work in dermatology/aesthetics.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. COVID-19 took a toll on me mentally and physically. As a healthcare provider, I went from working 12-hour shifts to 13-14 hour shifts with no lunch break. Most days during the stretch of COVID-19, I worked with very little staff and saw many of my co-workers leave for other positions. Prior to COVID-19, I planned on staying on the floor I was working on until I graduated, but I was coming home after my shifts burnt out. I took a leap and started my search to work in aesthetics and was able to start a job that wasn’t 12-hour shifts. With this change, I was able to have more energy and time to work, finish school work, and decompress after the day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently an Aesthetic Nurse and work two jobs. I mainly work with injectables which include neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and poly L-lactic acid. I am trained to individualize care to achieve the look that the client is looking for. I also am trained in body toning and sculpting to help decrease stubborn fat cells and tone muscle. I pride myself on learning different methods and techniques to perfect what will make my client feel their best. I try to take my time with each client, make a plan, and make sure they are comfortable throughout the procedure. I take my time which ensures the client feels little to no pain.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A lot of people might not know that I am an avid traveler. I love traveling in the USA and around the world as much as I can. I love learning about history and culture and try to teach as much as I can.
