Meet Madison Jones-Lawson of Columbus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Jones-Lawson.

Hi Madison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with hair when I was a little girl. So right after high school, I went straight to beauty school and became a licensed Master Cosmetologist at just 18 years old. My first job was as a cosmetics counter manager at Dillard’s in Columbus, GA, and not long after, I opened my first salon which I successfully ran for eight years.

As I got married, became a mother, and grew into myself as a woman, something shifted. Personal development became my favorite hobby. My salon appointments naturally turned into deep, meaningful therapy sessions, and I realized my gift wasn’t just in styling hair it was in helping women feel seen, supported, and understood.

That evolution is what led me to build my business around both beauty and emotional wellness. Today, through Columbus Head Spa and my Beauty & Soul Alignment work, I blend scalp therapy, nervous system care, and personal growth to help women reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

My journey started with hair but it’s grown into healing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I opened my first salon in my early twenties with no mentor and had to learn everything through trial and error managing clients, finances, and the pressure of running a full operation. As I grew into marriage and motherhood, balancing business and family became another challenge. I had to rediscover who I was beyond the chair.

One of the hardest moments was when my social media got hacked and I lost years of my visual portfolio. At first it felt devastating, but it ended up becoming a turning point. Losing everything forced me to rebrand and rebuild.

Those challenges pushed me into deeper alignment and inspired the work I do today, blending beauty, emotional wellness, and personal growth.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the owner of Columbus Head Spa & Scalp Therapy, where I specialize in scalp care, relaxation services, and nervous system focused beauty. My goal is to create a peaceful, nurturing experience that helps women slow down and reconnect with themselves.

I’m known for my attention to detail and for offering services that feel calming and almost therapeutic. Clients trust me with more than their hair they trust me with their emotions, and that’s what makes my work different.

A major turning point was when my social media got hacked and I lost years of my portfolio. It was devastating, but it pushed me to rebrand and rebuild from a more authentic place.

What sets me apart is the intention behind everything I do. I don’t just style hair I create a space where women can breathe, reset, and feel cared for.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe luck has shown up in both good and painful ways throughout my journey. The “bad luck” moments like losing my entire social media portfolio when I got hacked felt devastating at the time, but they ended up pushing me into deeper alignment. Those setbacks forced me to regroup, rebrand, and rebuild from a more authentic place.

On the other hand, the “good luck” has often looked like divine timing meeting the right clients, receiving unexpected opportunities, or having people speak life into me when I needed it most. But even then, I don’t rely on luck alone. Most of what looks like luck has really been preparation, discipline, and being brave enough to evolve.

Overall, luck has shaped me, but it hasn’t defined me. Every high and low redirected me toward the woman and the business owner I was meant to become.

The images include soft, minimal visuals such as elegant arm poses, lush green palm leaves with the phrase “Make time for yourself,” and a warm cup of tea paired with greenery. There are also interior shots of the spa’s black reclining head-spa chairs, neatly prepared with beige towels and surrounded by plants. Together, these images reflect the soothing, peaceful environment I’ve created for women to relax, reset, and experience intentional self-care.
