Thanks for sharing your story with us Makyah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It was evident that I placed on this Earth for a specific reason… I prayed for guidance … and EÄGO was born. I have battled low self-esteem and insecurities for as long as I can remember… I let unfortunate events out of my control, mask my womanhood and take complete control over me!
I know there are many young women who have been exposed to traumatic situations that they absolutely had no control over… and that can be hard when you feel like you’re the only one hearing your own problems… and that is my story. I was down… I had low self-esteem and I had a complete blockage from relationships whether with friends or family. It was a FULL-TIME JOB. There was no trust. It hurt me to live that way… I knew I legitimately wanted to redirect myself and my thoughts…
I wanted to unite women like me. I have been through a lot as a woman and I always felt no one understood my pain until I met other queens like me. Fast forwarding, I finally left my pity party and knew I had to turn my insecurities, depression and embarrassment into fuel to ignite my mental space and the world around me. My goal was immediate and unquestionable I knew that I could change lives and that’s what I am going to do, EÄGO forever.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, it has been a bumpy road, only because I’m super tough and hard on myself, and I want nothing short of perfection. I’m just starting to realize to give myself more credit than I normally do! I use to focus so much on what other people would think.. and that would typically push me further from my blessing. So now, I do what Makyah wants and how Makyah wants to do it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the EÄGO story. Tell us more about the business.
… My name is “Makyah”, it is Native American for Eagle Hunter… which is a name I have been shaping for years. EÄ•GO is a sense of your own WORTH and also a relevance of letters (EAGLE –> EÄGO) which ironically meshed with my past experiences involving low self-esteem and mind-boggling insecurities.
EÄGO spreads awareness and encourages you to allow your inner self to completely shine through your SHOES! Providing indescribably stylish goodie, mainly shoes to ignite your confidence and encourage you to really LOVE yourself, and walk over your insecurities. EÄGO encourages you to accept all flaws and imperfections as fuel to cherish and accept the unique individual you are.
EÄGO represents self-love, empowerment, polishing your flaws, and gaining supreme confidence. “Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life!” / long term, she plans to take all proceeds and create a facility for young women battling low self-esteem…a safe haven where the young queen can come and receive an abundance of LOVE and SUPPORT from women once in their shoes, to help UNLEASH the shine within. <3
