Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Baxter.
Hi Mandy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a proud resident of the charming town of Cartersville, GA, where I’ve called home since the age of 13. Family is at the heart of my journey, and I’ve been fortunate to share 24 wonderful years of marriage with my husband. Together, we’re parents to three incredible children – bright, beautiful, and driven individuals. We are active members of our church which we’ve attended for 24 years and thank God for our church, our family, and our gifts that we are able to use through our work!
As a hairstylist of 20+ years, I’ve been blessed to have the flexibility to not only build my career but also participate in every aspect of my children’s lives. Entrepreneurship has shaped my journey, from independent contracting to owning three salons. Today, I’m the proud owner of Neeley Salon Suites, a thriving venture with seven unique salon spaces, including my daughter Neeley, the inspiration behind our name.
My personal suite within, called Baxter Hair Co., is a space where I create as an extensions only stylist. Specializing in weft and ktip extensions, I create enchanting hair experiences that reflect your unique style and personality. It’s also a space where I train and grow stylists to elevate their skills and reveal their worth so they can walk in the fullness of their purpose. 2025 is the year where I will expand on this education journey outside the walls of my salon suite! 2 e-books, in person classes, and 1 to 1 shadow experiences are on the agenda!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not! There have been struggles with changing salons, covid shut downs, and leadership changes within salons. Most recently, while searching for the perfect space for my salon, I had to move to a temporary salon for a month while I built out my salon. Every obstacle has been difficult but also a learning experience. I enjoy learning through difficult times, mistakes, and becoming a stronger person on the other side of the struggles.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a salon owner and extensions only stylist. I specialize in beaded wefts as well as Ktip extensions. I’m a Redken Certified Colorist and Design Stylist which affords me the knowledge it takes to custom create all of my extensions looks. In addition, extensive trainings and certifications in business and education, allow me to pour into other stylists and salon owners to further their careers.
I have a passion for people and helping them realize their unique worth and abilities through their work, business, and even personal lives.
My services are focused on extensions and educating stylists. I have paved the way for many other stylists in the extensions world and am excited to continue that through in person classes in 2025!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck doesn’t dictate anything in my life. God orchestrates my steps, my path, and my purpose. A huge example of this is me having the salon I have today. I wasn’t looking for a salon, didn’t want one, didn’t ask for one. But God put specific things and people in my path to open unique doors as well as my eyes, that this was His plan for me. And I absolutely LOVE my space, my stylists, and every soul that sits in my chair. If I’m walking in faith and obedience, then I have to trust that what happens is His will.
