Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Apple.
Hi Marc, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Marc Apple, founder of Forward Push Law Firm Marketing. After working in corporate media and advertising, I realized most marketing agencies didn’t understand lawyers. The big firms had million-dollar budgets, but solo and small law firms were left trying to do everything themselves, running cases, managing clients, and figuring out marketing on top of it.
That’s why I started Forward Push. We built an agency that helps lawyers grow their practices through strategies that actually work. From SEO and websites to video and AI, everything we create is designed to bring in more clients and give attorneys more time to focus on their work. What drives me is seeing a lawyer go from being overlooked online to becoming the go-to choice in their market. That’s when I know we’ve done our job.
I’m also the author of The Legal Marketing Playbook and Too Busy to Market? The AI Playbook for Lawyers, and I regularly speak at bar associations and legal conferences across the country about how attorneys can use modern marketing and AI to grow their firms.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a marketing agency that works exclusively with lawyers meant a lot of learning, testing, and adjusting along the way. Early on, the biggest challenge was helping attorneys see marketing as an investment, not an expense. Many had been burned by agencies that overpromised and underdelivered, so earning trust took time and consistency.
There were also the usual growing pains—building the right team, figuring out systems, and staying ahead of constant changes in technology and platforms. But those challenges shaped how we operate today. Every lesson helped us build a better process for our clients. Now, when I speak to law firms or present at conferences, I can share not just what worked but what didn’t, and that honesty is something lawyers appreciate.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next five to ten years, I see law firm marketing becoming even more personal and data-driven. AI isn’t replacing lawyers or marketers, but it’s changing how we connect with potential clients. Attorneys who learn how to use AI to communicate faster, personalize their outreach, and build trust online will have a huge advantage.
Clients are already expecting immediate responses, helpful information, and transparency. That expectation will only grow. The firms that invest now in building strong digital systems and authentic brands will lead their markets in the years ahead.
I also think we’ll see a shift in how lawyers approach marketing altogether. It won’t just be about getting more leads—it’ll be about creating better experiences that turn clients into long-term advocates.
