Meet Marc “Wolf” Mahsyian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc “Wolf” Mahsyian.

Marc “Wolf”, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Mahsyian “Lone Wolf Mafia” came about in 2016 after falling asleep on a flight back home to San Diego, CA from Atlanta. Where at that moment, God placed the idea, name, and all the basic knowledge I would then need to pursue my journey in street fashion. Like all journeys there where many sacrifices and gains over the last four years, such as losing my job, houses, cars, close friends as well as missed opportunities with huge investors, big name influencers, entertainers and athletes. Through it all, I have stood tall, grounded and positive for it has helped motivate and grow me to become who I am and what my brand has become to the public eye over the years. #lonewolfmafia

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles come with change and growth, so to say that I encountered no struggles would be a lie in itself. Just to name a few of many obstacles I had to overcome in the early years. Would be well first when I lost my job as a store manager at a big named cell phone store and was forced to now solely depend on Mahsyian to take care of business needs as well as personal needs. Now being removed from my safety net income, I had to make some sacrifices in order to ensure Mahsyian kept growing and train kept moving. These sacrifices included cutting down to one car, downsizing and letting my house go, as well as limiting my social time to create that extra money. We also have fumbling on a major investment for the brand by trying to look out for another individual and that ended up burning me and my opportunity.

I’ve missed out on working with certain influencers, who at the time would reach out to me and either I didn’t have the funds or the items to put anything together for us to work and make content. Most of those influencers are some of your favorite personalities you watch daily now on Instagram and YouTube. I’ve lost inventory before and have made bulk purchases with manufacturing companies in the past, that sent me bad quality items that couldn’t be used for sale. I’ve took risk with bad marketing campaigns, as well as getting finessed out merchandise where I held my part up but the receiving party did not come through on their end. The list really goes on and on of all the growing pains I’ve encountered and overcame to continue to be able to present the best version of Mahsyian over the years. #lonewolfmafia

Mahsyian – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Mahsyian is a brand in its own category, in my opinion. It’s a lifestyle “Street Fashion” company where everything is sold in limited quantities and a lot of them are 1 of 1, we are kind of a brand that you’re put on too, very low key and a true gem in the city. We have a saying we share with our fellow mafia members, which is “dress outside the pack”. What that means is that our brand is not a brand for people who dress for hype or what the trend of the day is. We sell fashionable urban pieces to people of all walks of life that just enjoy that piece and the look of the item they are purchasing.

We also don’t have a physical storefront or sell wholesale to any retail chains. Any and everything Mahsyian is purchased through our website at www.mahsyian.com or occasional pop-ups we have throughout the year. Some fan favorites of the brand I would have to say, would be our hoodies and also our 1 of 1 pieces, especially our 1 of 1 denim jackets. I believe the key things that separate Mahsyian from other dope brands that are in the market would be; we look different than anything else you’re buying, quality comes before quantity when shopping from the mafia, selling in smaller quantities of items keep you unique and adds more value to customer purchases. No more getting dressed and worrying about looking like the rest, unless that’s your thing looking like everybody else, then Mahsyian might not be a good fit for you. #lonewolfmafia

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Proudest moment of my journey by far hands down would have to be being able to inspire and motivate others around me and those I come across on the daily. As well as being able to give back to the streets, whether it’s passing out money, back to school drives, my scholarship foundation I’m working on or anything. God has blessed me, and I love that I can now be a blessing to others, for that means more to me than any other perk that comes with being involved in the industry. Inspiring others is truly the greatest human act one can do. #lonewolfmafia
