Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcia Adams.
Marcia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Virginia Beach, VA. In the year 2000, My Mom felt the need to move my sister and me to Georgia for hopes of a better future for her children. Growing up I was diligent in my studies and was frequently known to be a top student in my class.
My daring and adventurous spirit pushed me to start my own business as a booking agent for dancers in the Atlanta metropolitan area a few years ago. With her leadership skills and a strong sense of individuality, I have now made my mark as an actress, model, and freelance photographer with my company: Ms. Marcia Productions.
I have studied and mastered my craft on and off the scenes. I’m bringing a completely different element to the industry with the flexibility to be able to maneuver in front of and behind the camera.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but who wants the world to be handed to them on a silver platter? Anything that you truly want in life, it shouldn’t be that easy to succeed. It just makes success more blissful. There were many times where I would spend my last dollar to invest in a project or booking that would elevate me to the next level.
We as individuals have to make choices and sacrifice for any passion that we truly believe. Being a strong believer in faith, it will take you farther than you thought you could ever imagine.
Ms. Marcia Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I consider myself to be an artist. I’m multi-faceted in various avenues of the entertainment industry. Currently, I’m focusing on my acting and modeling career. I specialize in being a photographer and creative director for my own visuals.
What makes me most proud of my company would be that I have my own sense of style and identity that sets me apart from most artistic individuals. I can understand both perspectives when putting together a production because I play both roles.
I’m able to understand what my subject wants, but also have the ability to direct them to deliver their perspective on camera.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is definitely a great place for someone in my business. It is growing rapidly by the minute with art, movies, brands, etc. I would recommend starting out in Atlanta if you are serious about what you want to do.
If you don’t, it is possible that you could get easily distracted. It is easy to fall into the flow of all the attractions this city has to offer. Otherwise, I would say go for it!
