Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Hernandez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Marco. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
If you were to ask me today what excites me the most my answer would be creating videos. I was never a talkative person growing up in school but always had a thing for creating visual stories with my camera — that was my way of communicating. I still remember my first camera, the Canon T2i! That thing was a beast (not compared to cameras nowadays though), ha. Ever since creating videos started to become my passion I knew I had to pursue it.
While heading into high school, I was going out and filming a bunch of fun adventure stuff with my friends. Recording videos were just a hobby so I never really thought I’d ever make any money doing it. My teachers even told me photography wasn’t a real job! Although I never believed what my teachers told me, I knew this was something I couldn’t leave behind.
A few years later, my passion for creating videos has now turned into a new lifestyle of doing what I love and making money through it. I run my own business in video production, which helps brands and individuals tell their story through a visual, unique way. It’s truly awesome how far someone can get if they just commit their time in working towards that crazy dream.
After long hours of creating, improving my craft, and putting my work out there, I can say that I am have successfully built a brand around content creation. I am proud of where I am today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I think that making videos, in general, can be a huge challenge when you have crazy ideas. Some of my ideas are usually so big that they can seem impossible to make. For example, in the beginning, I was in charge of making sure my video shoot is planned correctly and understanding with everyone involved. Although despite of how I create my videos, the business side of my brand has definitely been a struggle to maintain. At the start, it’s difficult to receive clients or people you can work with and that will essentially help you grow. There will always be challenges in whatever you make that will try to slow you down but actually helps you become stronger.
Please tell us about Marco Hernandez Films.
My company revolves around the video and content world. I am a video creator who works with brands and people to tell their story, or any story through filmmaking. I specialize in cinematography, video editing, drone operating and digital marketing. Apart from all that, I am just a YouTuber who enjoys uploading personal films on my channel. I believe what sets me apart from others is the videos I make around Atlanta that really highlights the environment in this city through lifestyle content creation.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory will have to be when I used to live with my cousins and we would build pillow forts and little houses in our living room. Then my aunt would come and tell us to go to bed and drag us to the room. But then my cousin would try to grab our arms and pull me out. HA
