Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Hutchinson.
Marcus, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our clinic was founded back in 2000 as a satellite office for Body Pros Physical Therapy. We started with two Physical therapists and 7 personal trainers! In 2005, we split off from this group and formed Axiom Physical therapy. We added our own satellite office 5 months later and were off to the races as an exciting, upstart PT company servicing the East Cobb community. In 2008, Arthur Blank and the Atlanta Falcons made us an offer we couldn’t refuse and we became part of the Atlanta Falcons Physical Therapy Centers where we grew to twelve clinics across the metro Atlanta area. In February of this year, we merged with the Advance Rehabilitation team and expanded our footprint to include most of Georgia!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been said that past is prologue, and indeed we have had some real growth experiences along the way! As a small business before joining the Arthur Blank group of businesses, we had a very difficult time competing with the bigger companies for PT’s and front office help. Additionally, until we joined the Falcons and Advance, we had to go above and beyond to ensure consistent referrals from our supporting Physicians. Other PT clinics could boast multiple offices that honored most every type of insurance. We mostly relied on word of mouth to grow our business which turned out to be a sound concept as it has eased our current transition with Advance.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Advance Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy – what should we know?
We pride ourselves in one on one personal therapy for our community. We don’t share patients and develop a sound relationship with each individual thus ensuring compliance and progress. We are the quintessential out patient, orthopedic Pt clinic and see patients from age 5 to 103! Where some clinics tend to have a revolving door with PT’s coming and going, our staff is solid and enjoys the atmosphere we create. Patients find our office inviting, friendly, safe, and knowledgeable with the average clinician possessing 10 years of experience.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Attentiveness with a personal touch. In this day and age, many are distracted by the glow of their iPhone or Android phone. We break through this barrier and meet people where they are, encouraging and educating them along the way.
