Meet Marcus Isaiah of All Hail The Creatives

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Isaiah.

Hi Marcus, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started with the question “What do you want to do?” – I realized that my mother sparked something in me from such a simple question. I’ve always been an active being and had my hand in multiple pots from creative arts to basketball, karate, playing the piano, swimming, bowling, track, and horseback riding. I was all over the place but something about dance just stuck with me, it just made sense. I love music and my body would always move to sound organic so one day, I just decided that I wanted to take dance classes and that’s what I did. I’ve been dancing since I was ten years movement, self-expression and entertainment have always kept my attention. I love artists like Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Missy Elliott.

Once I started, I didn’t stop – I attended a performing arts high school and obtained my degree in dance & choreography. I am fortunate enough to have humans in my life that exposed me to different things and disciplines that allowed me to explore my dance techniques but through the teachings of the discipline, I fell in love with the process. It was something about the production and creative aspect of it that chose me, I didn’t choose it. I love to choreograph movements on bodies which opened the door as I started to look at everything as an opportunity to be creative and from there, I discovered my passion for storytelling, branding, marketing, and production. This has propelled me into a career of creative direction/producer for multiple brands, campaigns, events, and live performances. I bring attention to detail to the coordination and execution of local, destination, and international projects.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it’s been a road worth traveling. I oftentimes share my experiences as I create or connect with people. I use my struggles and success as fuel and inspiration to move forward not only in my work but in my life. I’ve learned so much to get where I am now. I know I have much further to go but I’m grateful for my struggles it’s built character. I’ve struggled with clarity, sacrifice, confidence, and relationships just to name a few things but I’ve never let those things defeat me those experiences shaped me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about All Hail The Creatives?
In 2016, I founded All Hail The Creatives an organization with a mission to explore community through the creation of a resourceful grid for artists of color and those wanting to access their creativity. My vision is to curate mindful moments and experimental experiences that aim to heighten inspiration, enhance projects and expand businesses. My brand serves as a movement for creatives dedicated to interactive experiences that are immersed in development, direction, curation, and events. I have two series under the All Hail umbrella Squeeze, and The Blkr The Berry the newest black-owned pop-up marketplace dedicated to increasing the net worth of Black families.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I am big on quality as well as character – words I live by are faith, authenticity, and excellence – those qualities make me, me. I’ve discovered that my successes come from the effort and respect I have for myself and my crafts. My goal is to always make an impact not only on myself but on those who identify with the work I produce. This comes from my ideas of the term ‘excellence’. One thing about me is I’m a realist, a true Aquarian. I understand that I am human and perfectionism isn’t real. I will never be perfect but I can be excellent that is tangible to me, that is real to me as long as I am true to that, I’m good.
