Meet Marcus Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Taylor.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marcus. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m Marcus, better known as Vash, and I am a comedian/rapper. I’ve been doing sketch comedy since 2010, but I didn’t really start taking it seriously until 2016. I initially would put a video every now and then on Instagram, but in 2016 I started to get into character voices and my page began to pick up steam. Right now, I’m writing a set so that I can eventually do stand up and make it to the big stage.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has been an uphill battle on my part. I still hold down a regular 9 to 5, so sometimes that interferes with my comedy. Somedays I feel uninterested in making a sketch or comedy video and that has caused my audience to dwindle but other than that I love everything about comedy and what I do.

If you are interested in character voices and situational comedy, then look no further than Vashthekyd. I’m mostly known in my circle as “big dawg” because of one of the voices I’ve given one of my characters. I’m original and not a hack, so… there’s a good point.

Luck plays a major part in all industries but it’s especially important in the entertainment industry. I’m hoping that with enough luck, this interview will reach the right person.
