Hi Marcy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Marcy Ebangha and I’m the owner of Marcy Boutique, I was born in Cameroon Africa but resides in Maryland. Fashion has always been my passion.I Loved dressing up even when I don’t have anywhere to go to. I’ve always love mixing prints and colors to create my own unique style hence having a boutique has always been a dream of mine. I’m a big believer of Fashion is an instant language, what you wear is how you present yourself to the world especially today when people are quick to judge, been a conservative Christian who don’t like to expose every part of my body it was difficult to get decent outfits that don’t show all my goodies. 😩 I believe less is more. I wanted women to be sexy without exposing every body part of theirs.

So 2020 when COVID hit the nations and everything was on shutdown no one was working, jobs where closed I didn’t know what to do next, out of fear and anxiety I decided to start my long time dream a Boutique. I started doing my research but I didn even know where to start with all the information I had received, I prayed about it and believed God. I contacted vendors all over the world and I was getting positive response with some of my sketch I’ve been working on which kinda gave me some push to continue with my dream. I’ve always wanted a boutique that will cater to both men and women from every nationality and ethnicity, I wanted something that will be a one-stop shop for everyone, I wanted something that will represent my African roots and also none African clothings, I wanted something that scream sexy but without showing your boobs or cutouts, I wanted something classy and chic. On 10.10.2020 Marcyboutique.com was launched.

My First 3 months was great all friends and family were buying, supporting the boutique and sales was great after that first month’s reality set in, it was no sales or barely having sales, I almost wanted to quit like 10 times because it felt like I was putting in more than I was getting but I encouraged myself and believed totally in Gods promises. I increased in my posting on Instagram and Facebook consistently and before I knew it people started following back and our followers got increased and random people started trusting and placing orders outside friends and family, one of the best feeling ever, it’s been a year now since Marcy Boutique was launched, we still have some rocky days but it’s way better than where we were before and God has favor Marcy Boutique beyond our imagination. Whoever is reading this please please please don’t give up on your dreams, and remember it’s not easy to get there but just keep pushing, we will get there someday. It don’t take one day to become successful with God on your side ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Consistency is the key!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Noooooooooooo. Everything has not been smooth. Working with vendors and they can’t produce your sketch as is in your head and you spend a lot of money and when it comes it’s nothing like what you asked them to do. Wrong sizes, wrong fabrics.

Struggle to grow on social media

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Marcy Boutique is an online fashion store. We started a year ago and by God’s grace we are growing beyond our imagination. We cater clothing for both men and women from every ethnicity. We are known for classy but sexy clothing that don’t have to expose alll your body parts. My most proud moment is when the customer received their package and they love the quality and they leave good and encouraging reviews on our site.
