Today we’d like to introduce you to Margarita Eberline.
Hi Margarita , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in marketing because I was obsessed with one thing: understanding what truly makes people take action. Early on, I realized most businesses weren’t struggling because they lacked effort; they were drowning in tactics with no strategy, guessing instead of growing, and outsourcing their voice to people who couldn’t care about the outcome, not really.
So I built Marketing Boss to change that.
What began as me consulting for firms turned into a mission to give business owners something rare in this industry: clarity, honesty, and strategies backed by data, not opinions. I refused to create another agency, touting smoke-and-mirrors metrics, cookie-cutter playbooks, and pushing tactics. Instead, I created a system that treats marketing like a machine; measurable, predictable, improvable, and wrapped it in a methodology (The Bossy Method) that helps companies define their brand, document their strategy, and operationalize their growth.
Along the way, I wrote a book (Connect Convert) because marketing isn’t just about leads, it’s about conversion. I couldn’t not address that too. That became our backbone: connect with your audience, convert with precision.
Today, Marketing Boss is a fractional CMO firm built for leaders who want unbiased direction, teams who know how to sell, and marketing that performs even when they’re not looking. I get to work alongside business owners who are done guessing, ready to scale, and want a partner who tells them the truth and delivers results.
I didn’t start this company to hustle louder. I built it to help others grow smarter.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s this:
Marketing doesn’t work because you want it to. It works when you engineer it to.
That’s what we do. And that’s how we win for business owners who deserve more from their Marketing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the early years, my biggest battle wasn’t competition; it was awareness. My market was used to buying marketing like it was a menu: social media from one vendor, ads from another, websites from someone else, all stitched together with hope and zero oversight. They didn’t think they needed a CMO. Most didn’t even know what one was.
What they really didn’t realize?
They already were the CMO. They just sucked at it.
So part of my journey became educating business owners on a hard truth:
You can hire all the vendors you want, but if nobody is driving the strategy, protecting the brand, and measuring what actually moves the needle, you don’t have marketing, you have hope and expenses.
I had to teach a market addicted to “doing marketing” that what they were missing was leading marketing. They wanted to buy services directly from vendors because it felt tangible. What I offered: strategy, alignment, accountability — felt invisible until it worked. And once it worked, it was impossible to unsee.
Those early years were spent:
• Reprogramming how business owners thought about growth
• Proving that leads without conversion are just noise
• Showing them that marketing is a system, not a shopping spree
• And positioning them to finally lead their own success with someone (me) orchestrating the machine they didn’t know how to build
It wasn’t smooth, but it was foundational. Because a business owner who finally sees themselves clearly, their strengths, their gaps, and their role, becomes unstoppable. My job was to get them there. And once I did, the road got a hell of a lot faster.
The struggle shaped the solution.
The solution built the company.
And the company is now changing the market.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Marketing Boss exists for one reason: to make marketing finally make sense for business owners who are tired of guessing, wasting money, and babysitting vendors.
We are a fractional CMO firm that turns marketing from chaos into a high-performing, predictable growth engine. We specialize in industries — especially law firms — where marketing has real consequences, big budgets, and even bigger expectations. We don’t just generate leads, we build systems that connect, convert, and scale.
We’re known for being:
• Unbiased and data-driven — strategy first, ego never
• Brutally honest — we tell you what’s broken and how to fix it
• Conversion-obsessed — because leads without signed clients are just expensive bragging rights
• Process builders — we document, standardize, and automate so marketing works even when you’re not watching it
• Market educators — we taught business owners they didn’t need more vendors, they needed a leader driving the strategy
What sets us apart is our methodology, The Bossy Method, which gives companies three core things most never have:
1. A brand with a backbone (brand guides and positioning)
2. A documented strategy that’s measurable
3. Standardized, repeatable processes that scale
I also wrote a book, Connect Convert, that became our foundation, proving that marketing isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing it with intention and finishing with conversion.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we changed how business owners think. We shifted the mindset from “buying marketing services” to leading marketing strategy. That’s the real flex. That’s the real ROI.
What I want readers to know is this:
If you want growth that’s intentional, measurable, and profitable, not random acts of marketing, you want us in the driver’s seat. We don’t replace your hustle. We give it direction, leverage, and results.
Marketing Boss isn’t loud because we talk big.
We’re loud because we deliver big.
And nothing makes a business owner look smarter than finally investing in marketing that works for them, not on them.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that my value is my identity, not my output — and once I owned that, my leadership, business, and impact leveled up.
For years, I thought the win was in grinding harder, doing more, proving myself, and carrying everything on my back for my five sons. But the real breakthrough came when I realized the truth I now teach others:
You are the asset. Not the hustle. Not the perfection. Not the effort. You.
That lesson changed everything because:
• It made me a better leader — one who guides instead of compensates
• It made my business sharper — built on strategy, not survival
• And it made my brand magnetic — because business owners trust someone who knows who they are, not someone still trying to earn their seat
I also learned that not everyone is ready for that level of ownership, maturity, or honesty — and that’s fine. My job isn’t to drag them there. It’s to lead the ones who are ready to rise, and to hold the mirror for the rest without lowering my standards.
So the lesson is this:
Success isn’t built by becoming more impressive. It’s built by becoming more yourself.
When I finally internalized that, I stopped marketing myself like a service provider and started showing up like the strategic partner business owners actually need. That’s when the market didn’t just understand me; they sought out what Marketing Boss is.
Because the most powerful brand move a founder can make is this:
Stop selling what you do. Start embodying who you are.
