Mariah , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I started doing hair out of my apartment in Aiken sc for $25-40. I was doing hair from sun up to sun down . I became so busy I had to quit my job. People from all over was traveling to my little apartment to get their hair done . That’s when I knew it was time to get in a salon . My homeboy had a spot open on his barbershop . I stayed at his shop for about 2 years and by the Grace of God a building became available right across the street from his barbershop . I named it Loc Bar of Augusta and we have been here 3 years now. We service a lot of people in the community . I love it here
Please tell us more about your brand, Loc Bar of Augusta
I am a Master Loctician . I specialize in Loc Repair , loc maintenance, Wicks , retwist and styles . Most people hate being in the salon for long periods of time so my team and I provide a quality yet very efficient service by helping each other with each client. Most of my clients brag about how fast they are in and out of the salon and yet their hair still looks fabulous . I’m most proud of how well I’m loved my by clients . They make me feel super important and loved .
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Chelsea Sams and Aubrey Jai Collection and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Aubrey Jai Collection .
I just love how Chelsea and Jonathan work together as a team. The Aubrey Jai collection is such a unique brand and the fact that they named it after their beautiful daughter is amazing and beautiful. To see how far they’ve come in such a short time with this brand is impeccable to say the least. They’ve been on the shade room 3 times . The designs, the shapes , the colors , the name is something I’ve never seen before and it stands out. I own a few Aubrey Jai bags and I get compliments everywhere I go. I look forward to seeing what’s next and the next colors for next season

Mariah is one of the most genuine people I got to know ! She toke me in as a client with starter Locs ! Many of Mariah’s Clients have had Locs for years ! So their growth was much larger than mine alone ! She never laughed at my process but yet encouraged me that growth was coming upon me ! Her staff is amazing as well ! Anytime I’m in the shop , it’s always laughs , good times and good vibes ! I’m so happy I had the pleasure of meeting her and she becoming my stylist! I drive about 45 minutes to the Loc Bar Of Augusta for frequent retwists and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! Yes Mariah and her team rocks !!!
