Hi Marjorie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In my mother country, I worked as a kitchen designer for many years; my longing to be a mother and to be present for my children pushed me to divide myself between my cherished profession and the demands of motherhood which I gradually combined, to the extent that it became routine for my children to transition from a soccer or ballet class to assisting me with installations or joining me on material searches. The turning point came with migration, forcing me to close the door on one chapter of my life and open another where language posed a formidable barrier. In this new reality, the prevailing advice was to say this is the work to do “Housekeeper”. I had a lot of uncertainty about all the changes, I clung to the belief that God was orchestrating my path, urging me to place my trust in Him. Whenever I closed the door of a newly cleaned room and saw that everything was in its place clean and perfect my heart was filled, Although many did not understand why I liked it, I could only remember the words of my parents “Whatever you do in life, do it Well”.
I knocked on many doors to get to what I wanted so much “Design Kitchens”, I also worked in several areas; until a person allowed me to sell kitchens in his Tile Store…that day God reminded me of the limit I set myself… With a lot of effort, I feel safe with all the changes; the processes to achieve functional and beautiful kitchens are similar, you just have to educate yourself, and every day I seek to learn more and more.
Today, I share my knowledge so that, through their spaces, people can create family memories. I hope that houses become comforting homes where it is a pleasure to arrive.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The challenges in this area have been varied but the most relevant would be being a woman and having started very young. In the construction niche, a young woman reviewing the work of a man who could be my father made me demand more, seeking to nourish myself with everything I could to get them to respect my Job, throughout the years although it seems incredible, it seems continues to happen to the point that recently asked me if I knew how to use a tape measure; the best is years have passed and the experience, gives me the assurance that at the beginning I did not have Starting in this great country, the strongest challenge was the language but my desire to give my knowledge and show my children that God is by our side and our work is to prepare us; so I study daily, every area that can be useful, The world is constantly changing, which means we have to keep up.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My family, especially on holiday a house full of relatives we did not see during the year; all colluding in every activity, cooking, decorating. My walks with Papa, I used to accompany him everywhere; he took me to the store, and we shared coffee and cake; he created fantasy stories for me or we ate in silence; I loved those walks.
