Marquis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, I was born on April 3, 1990, in Atlanta, GA. Although I grew up a music lover, I chose fashion/makeup as my career. My Inspiration to become a makeup artist was growing up with a Fashionista (Great Grandmother) who’s everyday mission was to enthuse people about her fashion and her makeup looks. I believe that it was her sass and her continued effort to do this that inspired me to study fashion in college and figure out what about it made people happy. Later in my career, I picked up a makeup brush, never thought it would be the thing to help my career flourish!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This has definitely been one of the toughest roads I’ve ever traveled! The beauty industry is not the easiest industry to break into. My family also weren’t the happiest about my decision to be a makeup artist at first. Being a new artist in Atlanta is a bit intimidating considering the amount of amazing artist in this great city. But I was able to overcome all the adversity and make a name for myself.

Bearded with brushes specializes in enhancing a person’s natural beauty. The company assists in the professional market between client and talent. As an agency, we are proud to promote careers in the areas of commercial and print.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I want this company to be a household name! I want everyone around the world to be able to say that they were serviced by a member of bearded with Brushes. We are hoping to open Bearded with Brushes Studios fall of 2019! Stay tuned!
