Meet Marshall Mosher of Vestigo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marshall Mosher.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marshall. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For us, the outdoors is a crucial part of our lives. Every experience from navigating the Patagonia mountains to weathering a storm on Yosemite’s Half Dome to watching a beautiful sunrise over the hills of Big Sur has taught us a little more about ourselves and what makes us who we are. Throughout every adventure, our passion to explore the world has created an incredibly healthy lifestyle of personal wellbeing without ever stepping foot in a gym.

After four years of working as a Trip Leader for the University of Georgia’s Outdoor Recreation program, I realized that helping people to achieve this lifestyle is easy. It often simply takes access to an experienced friend who can guide them through an exhilarating new experience and into the mentality that an exciting and active lifestyle is within your reach. I loved the job more than anything as I was the gatekeeper, the torch to guide the way for eager new students with the passion to venture without the guidance to take the first step.

Two years later, we founded Vestigo to empower companies to recruit and retain remarkable talent through building a powerful team lifestyle. We custom-build dynamic shared experiences that help teams transform mere surface-level culture into relationships that matter. We do this through adventure-based experiences aimed to bolster courage and connection to foster a mindset of limitless possibilities, both individually and as a team.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe timing is everything for a startup. We’re confident that now is the optimal time to leverage technology to promote shared experiences given the higher value that millennials and society now place on those experiences. However, timing is hard to predict and we experienced this the hard way. In the very beginning, we started as a platform for travelers to find local guides but after finding difficulty in reaching scale, we shifted to a B2B focus in working with teams rather than individuals.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Vestigo – what should we know?

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
We have a board of Advisors and several investors but I can’t disclose their names.
