Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Vance.
Mary, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a California Girl who stepped out on faith in December of 2014 to Atlanta, Ga. I just graduated from college and just got out of engagement. I came to Atlanta with one intention in mind. To find my husband! Of course, I ran into a lot of dead-end promises, stand-ups, lies, and deceit. I did it my own way for about 6 months. Then the Lord had to deal with me. I was asking to be a wife but wasn’t prepared to be. In my first published book, Fleshly Date or Godly Mate, I tell my transparent journey of how God gives you what you ask for in His timing, and who He finds is best for you. My first published book has opened the door of opportunity and I am now a radio show host for WIGO1570AM called Virtuous Women of Vision. It is so amazing to be able to help women through the airwaves be the best versions of themselves. On my radio broadcast, I talk about singleness, marriage, careers and goals, and a whole lot of Jesus!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has absolutely NOT been an easy road. When God told me that He wanted me to write a book, He gave a promise that I would be able to get out of my 9-5 job. I definitely had the end result in mind but I didn’t have the process to the end result. The process is the hardest because it is the time where you get to learn, grow, fail, and try again. The process builds your character to be able to move to the level you are trying to acquire. I literally hate the word “process” but I know that it is necessary to get to the level I’m praying to God about.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Virtuous Women of Vision story. Tell us more about it.
I am a prolific Author, motivational speaker, relationship coach, and radio personality. Virtuous Women of Vision Talk Show was created to help women realize their value, achieve their goals, and gain a deepened relationship with Christ.
What sets me apart from others, is that I allow the Bible to have the final authority in my life. I can do what it says I can do. I can be who it says I can be and I want women to understand that as well. In the age of social media, women have to look a certain way, wear certain clothing, and wear makeup to be pretty. I’m here to remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made just the way that they are. The way God created them to be. I’m set apart because I want to establish God’s value of women in the earth. I want women to gain the confidence to know, “You Deserve God’s Best Because You Are God’s Best”
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I am a firm believer that if you work hard, be kind, and love others, you will reap what you sow and your prayers of success will be answered
