Meet Maxie McClintock, Actress and Producer in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxie McClintock.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Maxie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am an Alabama-born actress and producer, best known as Alice in “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.”

I am currently in Season 1 of Ozark on Netflix. I recently landed a role opposite Sanaa Lathan and Lyriq Bent in the Netflix film “Nappily Ever After,” and am set to star as the Queen of Sheba in Gino Payne’s series “Half UnTold.”

My Executive Producing credits include the short-film “Soul Fire,” which was the winner of the 2017 Jack Daniel’s International Short Film Competition.

I grew up as a military brat in Schweinfurt, Germany. After high school, I moved to the United States to attend Austin Peay State University on a theatre scholarship.

I have been happily married to businessman Mark McClintock since 2006. We are the proud parents of daughter Amora, who is also an actress. Amora is in Season 2 of the show, Atlanta. I am devoted to perfecting my craft and living a balanced life with my family.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, I worked in corporate America for 9 years and did independent film projects for low/no pay on nights, vacation time and weekends before I left my job to pursue acting full time.

I am a working actress and it is a struggle EVERY SINGLE DAY. The main issue if financial, which is why you must love acting, Most working actors still have to work a part-time job to make ends meet. My passion and belief in my talent and faith keep me going.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Maxie McClintock – what should we know?
I am most proud of the film I executive produced and starred in “Soul Fire”. As a working actor in Atlanta, my career had hit a stall and I wanted to create a project that I could showcase my strengths. I reached out to Director/Writer Janlate’ Mullins to collaborate and create an atypical African American character that could showcase my talent as an actress. Quiet. Kind. Loving.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Tenacity! You can never give up.
