Meet McDonough Hair Stylist: Zuleakha Broady

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zuleakha Broady.

Zuleakha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing hair at a very early age landing my first job as an assistant at 15 years old. I graduated from Dudley Beauty College in charlotte in 2004. I knew from day one that I wanted to be a salon owner. I’ve been featured in the well-known magazine black hair sophisticate. I’ve also worked on vh1 shows such as LHHA and Sorority Sisters. I finally decided to step out on faith and open up my very own salon in the city of Mcdonough. I knew my work and talent was needed in a city that isn’t over saturated with great stylists. I knew that I would bring that it factor that was missing.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Nothing comes easy in life. I’ve had to sacrifice a lot due to becoming a mom to my 2 boys and also being a great wife to my husband. I’ve had to turn down gigs, put a lot on hold but in the end, it’s all worth it. Nothing happens before it’s time! My husband has a been a great help with making my dreams come true as a salon owner.

How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
Growing up I was very outgoing, feisty, a people person. Definitely a leader

What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory from my childhood is our family vacations. Definitely, something I always looked forward to

So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
Plans for my future includes growing my business and starting other businesses as well
