Meet Meg B White of Meg B White Salon in Perimeter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meg B White.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story began in a small country town in Michigan with horses. Horses were my first hair clients that would sit still long enough to allow me to practice. After I outgrew that life is opened myour wings and flew to Las Vegas where I lived and learned for four years. Wow did that open my eyes to the possibilities that life can have. But once again I outgrew the desert life and landed myself in the South. It took me a while to get here but Atlanta is where I truly blossomed in business and my professional life in the salon and teaching on the road. I knew I wanted to teach hair since 2003 when I saw how much more effectively it could be done with a little passion. Here I am today practicing hair and teaching color full of limitless passion.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To get where I am today, saying it was a smooth road would be naive. It has been a turbulent private jet more like, luxurious and gut wrenching at the same time. I was blessed in the beginning of my career with fearless leader in the salon. However it made me think that everyone would be honest and wonderful. That is not the case , there were people above me that lied and tried to be a speed bump in my development. I was fired, I was told I wasn’t good enough and I prevailed. If you don’t have this element in your personal journey, you will, just wait, or you wouldn’t be succeeding.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Meg B White Salon – what should we know?
My business revolves around hair color, because I am an artist using hair as my medium. The thing that sets my work apart from others is that I am a translator of energy. What that means is that I listen to a client and I hear their heart speaking to me which I then translate to a look that will help them express themselves. We all have a fire burning inside of us and what color that fire is, is exactly what I showcase. Hair color is a form of expression and I am here to help you express yourself. I will be expanding my reach into a second salon location in Edgewood in April 2017!! Come check me out!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel that the most important characteristics to success is PASSION! Find what your passion is and run with it. I found my passion very young when I was about 13 and I had the balls to never let it go regardless of what others said about it. Passion is my driving force in the teaching that I do, in the hair that I do, in the yoga that I teach, and everything that I create.

GO, MEG! I’m an “old, grey chick” and Meg turns me into Joseph’s technicolor rainbow. I get soooo many compliments about my hair! She’s great- check her out! Oh! And no shameless self-promotion here, but check out my Adorned and Scorned gallery at http://www.monaleisa.com and see the amazing hair Meg has done to compliment my art!
