Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Ritchie.
Hi Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have always loved makeup and brows were my obsession. My husband told me for years that permanent makeup was my calling, but with a family of four to provide for and a comfortable corporate job I was scared to make a change. When COVID hit I lost my job, so I took a leap of faith and signed up for a microblading course. I absolutely loved it and felt that I was on the right journey so I decided to take a chance on starting a business. I shortly opened my studio, Brow Baby, in Forsyth County. With lots of hard work, practice & patience I am now booking three months in advance. I’m currently looking to expand my brand and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think any business has started up without obstacles and I certainly had my own. I opened Brow Baby during the peak of COVID so it definitely took hard work and dedication to get things going. My husband and I worked opposite schedules as well and with two children it was very stressful at times.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a triple-certified permanent makeup artist and I specialize in brows. Most of my work consists of Microshading and Microblading. I absolutely love my job because I get to change lives daily. Unlike many other cosmetic studios, I do not run a back-to-back schedule spitting out clients. I take one new client a day in an extensive appointment to ensure I really get to know my clients and what they’re looking for. I genuinely appreciate my clients’ time and love sending them off with a newfound confidence.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that Atlanta has everything to offer. It’s full of amazing companies and talented people that run them. The only thing Atlanta got wrong was the traffic which is why I love being located a little north.
