Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Roth and Kathleen Cone.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hungry Girls Do It Better all started at the prestigious Florida State University, where we quickly discovered our passion for all things food related and WAA LA, a friendship for the ages was created. From there, we graduated college, packed our bags and moved to the greatest city of all time, Atlanta. We are constantly searching for a new adventure and figured there was no better way to explore the city than through our mouths! Whether it be upscale or quick service dining [as long as its good, we eat it].
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While this job seems somewhat glamorous not all days are created equal. We love going out to eat and receiving free meals, but it sometimes gets a little exhausting. We miss hanging out with our friends on a regular Tuesday night. A lot of the PR groups and restaurants expect a lot out of us at no cost to them. Recently, the Instagram algorithm has been a struggle for gaining new followers and having our current followers see our new content.
Hungry Girls Do It Better – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Essentially, we go to a wide range of Atlanta restaurants while attempting to take the most unique/original photos possible to share and captivate our followers with. I think what makes us unique is that we try to keep our captions funny and light hearted. We really try to get our voice across throughout every image, remaining true to ourselves and the brand we have created over the past 3+ years.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being featured in Atlanta Magazine “Cheap Eats” article and receiving the Zagat “Top 100 Foodies of 2017” award!
