Meikarya, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I initially started GlammedByKarya in 2011. I have always been a lover of fashion, especially accessories. I feel like the accessories help make the outfit your own. I started with gaudy jewelry but right when I was getting into the business, my job at the post office relocated me to Shreveport. The relocation made it harder to continue my business being that all my customers wherein Monroe. So after one year in business, I decided to stop for a while. 2018 was the year I decided to relaunch GlammedByKarya. I was into the designer brooches and I always got complimented on how I would wear them. So I researched and found vendors and a lot more resources I needed that I didn’t know nothing about. I relaunched in September 2018 and business has grown and continue to get bigger. I’m very grateful for the success of GlammedByKarya over the past two years. My vision is coming to light! GlammedByKarya will be internationally known! My slogan is: I’ll Keep You Looking Your HAUTEst!!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My first year was a struggle when my job relocated me to another city. And I realized there was a lot I had no idea about. But I’m learning and researching more and more each day!
Please tell us about your business.
I sell designer inspired brooches and accessories. My pieces are items that I will wear myself. I take pride in selling great quality pieces at an affordable price. Customer service is also very important to me. I try to reply to my customer as soon as possible and assist with any questions they may have.

My two daughters and close friends have been a major help in my success. Any event I may have, they are there to help me, also with promoting my business.
