Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Pope.
Hi Melissa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my Acting career by doing Background Acting last May 2022. I realized on set that this was something I truly wanted to go far with. The happiness I felt being on set and meeting so many people who had the same interest as myself was very exciting. I did a lot of networking and became connected with some amazing directors who has given me a chance so I started doing Speaking Roles in August 2022. As of today, I have several projects that are on Tubi, Amazon Prime and YouTube and so much more to come that I cannot speak of at the moment
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As we know, anything we want deeply will not come easy at all. I have had a lot of “No’s” and also a lot of “Yes You Got It”! For every “No” I have received, it put a fire inside me to build my skill set stronger and to continue to give each audition my all. I learned that “No’s” are not always a bad thing; sometimes it just means that particular role was not for me and a blessing for someone else. Each audition is more practice for the next one and I promise to NEVER LET UP!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have also been in the Mortgage Business for over 16 years! Even while pursuing my Acting career I have still maintained my career and give that my absolute all as well. I have accomplished so much in my 1 year of pursuing my acting career and I am never to big or to prideful for a role. It’s my artistry and I am going on each and every set giving it my complete all. I have had directors recognize my professionalism, work ethic, and my eagerness to succeed. My outgoing personality and my smile is always complimented, and I thrive on taking each role I receive and owning it.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?Covid-19 has taught me to never take anything for granted. When the world had to shut down for survival, it reminded me that anything can be taken away from you at any given time. So I live each day with gratitude.
