Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Tompkins.
Meredith is an experienced and accomplished Beauty Makeup Artist, Skincare Therapist and Master Cosmetologist. She has worked in the industry for over a decade and is based in Georgia. At an early age, she started working and traveling the US as an in-house trainer for Victoria’s Secret Beauty. From that moment on, she knew it was her calling. She furthered her career in skin therapy and makeup artistry, receiving her training from the International Dermal Institute and Temptu, New York.
As a makeup artist, her career presented opportunities working with recognized companies such as Victoria’s Secret Beauty, Sevi Vegan Cosmetics, Bella Brides, Intercoiffure, Temptu NYC, Bravo, CNN, Dateline, Southern Brides, Southern Weddings Magazine, Occasion Magazine, just to name a few.
Today, she owns and operates Bella Faccia Skincare and Beauty Studio and travels the globe furthering her career and making her clients look and feel glamourous. In 2016, she created and launched an entire cosmetic line called Cosmetici By Mer. Cosmetici By Mer offers the lastest beauty trends, with seasonal and of-the-moment color introductions. It’s full of classic shades that never go out of style.
In fall of 2017, Meredith was invited to St. Malo, France by Phytomer Skincare, a luxury European skincare line, to help develop and create a overnight cellulite cream. Celluli Night Coach will launch in early spring of 2018. It is the first Intensive Cellulite Sleeping Mask. A night mask that targets visible cellulite in a light gel texture that instantly melts on the skin. Its unprecedented formula, with Taurine, extracted from red algae, coaches the skin intensively during the night when it is the most receptive, to facilitate the elimination of fats. Results attained: night after night, diminished cellulite visibly and the appearance of “orange peel” skin and cellulite dimpling is reduced.
Meredith has been featured on NBC, Comcast OnDemand, Dermalogica World-Wide, Talk Radio Shows. Her cosmetics have been published in Skirt, Out Traveler, Change and Augusta Magazines.
She enjoys painting, practicing yoga, traveling and learning new languages, photography and being a mother to her 7 year old son, Oliver and her 12 year old girl daughter, Lucienne.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road! I recently just had to move locations because of landlord issues. A successful business comes with a price tag and a personal investment of your time and energy. You have to be able to manage employees, finances, store front, inventory, etc. all with a smile and it can be a bit tricky. Sometimes, I feel like I am on a huge hamster wheel, however I know, I’m called to be in this industry. I work almost every Saturday doing bridal makeup and hair, so my “weekend” doesn’t start until Sunday. Regardless of these struggles, they do not interfere with my life mission of making people look and feel beautiful.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bella Faccia Skincare and Beauty Studio – what should we know?
Bella Faccia started as just a makeup company focusing on bridal makeup. Fast forward 12 years to present day, we specialize in body waxing, luxury facial treatments, haircuts and haircolor, bridal and special event makeup and hairstyles and lash extensions. Our specialty, is definitely still Weddings. We enjoy meeting with the bride, her family and her photographer to create a flawless look that will last hours. It’s such a beautiful time in their lives and an honor to work with them on their special day.
