Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Byrd.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out of mere desperation; desperation to succeed, and become someone that my environment would tell me was impossible. I struggled to obtain my degree. I worked hard and secretly to get my education after having my first child at a young age. I would often put my head down to get through the process with minimum noise or fuss over my accomplishments because I believed I started so late for me to succeed.
Until I started working for a TOP 500 Accounting Firm as one of the only. The only youngest CPA, and the only youngest black CPA. Which brought about multiple obstacles, however, I was up for the challenge. I’ve never been scared and therefore I thrived from the pressure to keep going. I evolve from taking risks. I will take a risk, even if it costs me my life. I slowly realized that I was destined to gradually grow into my totality. Whatever that was to look like from my spiritual outlook I was determined to make it happen. The building of my brand started with the accounting firm and then it revolutionized to the women’s boutique to which is a display of me myself because I walk, I talk and encircle fashion, basically I am saying this part of my brand comes effortlessly.
And, because I need encouragement to survive, the empowerment soon followed. I am an author, and my book is titled ‘SHE’S UNSTOPPABLE’ it is a non-fiction book destined to assist the busiest women to keep going even when obstacles are attempting to drown and smuggle her in fear, doubt, and anger. I speak across the globe to business women about her abilities to be a ‘SHE’S UNSTOPPABLE’ goal getter and never giving up on herself. In my daily regiment, I exercise. During my exercise routines, I am encouraged and empowered to my highest level of strength and love from my source. I am enlightened from whom my strength comes from, this helps me share with others that ‘all is well.’ Whence you have before you the business and brand of MICAH BYRD
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely, not it hasn’t been a smooth road. In this process of building, I have lost some very important clientele and consumers. I have had to close one or two brick-and-mortar locations. I have lost thousands and thousands of dollars on build-out, expansion, inventory and employee mishandling. I have had very little if any family and friend support.

MICAH BYRD is finance, fashion, empowerment, fitness, and faith. MICAH BYRD provides accounting literacy and services to entrepreneurs and small business owners. It also has an online high-end women’s boutique, which provides designer styles to the everyday woman. MICAH BYRD has a product line of empowerment and business education books, t-shirts, and gifts for the busiest business woman of remaining educated and intuitive to her surroundings. Micah Byrd the owner is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys exercising which helps herself as a whole. She is also drawn to her faith, which empowers and encourages her in her daily dealings profitable.
What sets MICAH BYRD apart is the tenacity to WIN; to win in assisting other entrepreneurs and small business owners to comprehend their totality as business owners and individuals.
As the owner, I am most proud of as a company is the ability to keep going. If you look at businesses and employees in today’s market most people give up. No one ever sticks it out through adversity but I have successfully been in business for twenty-three years. No, it hasn’t been glorious years, but it has been years of learning and evolving and I am super proud of this accomplishment.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Atlanta and the surrounding areas of Atlanta is a great place for businesses like mine. This city/state is the hub for entrepreneurs and small business owners to thrive and innovate. It has always been a place where a person can begin with minimal resources and low-self of worth and make something out of themselves. It is a city/state where people can create a life of menial and just living with hard work, drive and determination.
I would recommend a beginner starting in Atlanta or the surrounding areas because the living is easy. It is a laid-back environment but at the same time, one knows that they must work to accomplish their goals.
However, I do suggest that our city makes resources and assistance more accessible to all and not just those in the know because there are people who are new or have been here for a while and still don’t have access to information to their success.
