Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael O’Kane.

Located in Chamblee, Simple Finds Interiors and Antiques, the newest member of Chamblee’s Historic Antique District almost 4 years old! Simple Finds Interior & Antiques is a familiar concept within the antiques, dealer booths, interiors and vintage retail world with a unique twist. There are three consignment showrooms of furniture throughout the almost 25,000 square foot space along with approximately 130 dealer booths that house unique items. Their motto is: “What Would You Like To Find”?

Simple Finds is conveniently situation at the intersection of Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Peachtree Boulevard. Located approximately four miles from Town Brookhaven, Perimeter Mall and within seven miles of Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square – it is just minutes from Dunwoody, Old Town Chamblee and within 2 miles of I-285.

This store differs from most area consignment in that it is set up to show case massive sunlit showrooms and clean and professionally decorated dealer booths. The store has a circular layout, which routes you around and in view of all dealer booths and throughout each consignment showroom. The entire store is clean and fresh and offers warm track-lighting, well sized aisles for viewing each display and is climate-controlled for comfort. The show rooms are well lit by full length display windows, which provide natural light for an open, airy-feel, as well as window shopping.

The quality, we find, that differentiate Simple Finds from the competition are best seen in the level of service provided to their customers. Guests are acknowledged and met with smiling faces and warm greetings from all members of the team including onsite dealers. Attention to detail, product and dealer booth knowledge is evident in the way they provide assistance to buyers in locating items not found at the store at the time. A Customer Wish Book is kept up front, wherein dealers, that have potential for providing items requested, are contacted and the store’s follow up contacts with customers are key to building relationships.

I found that the Simple Finds team is courteous and friendly while working to exceed the expectations of their customers. While shopping, the team members allow you to shop, at your leisure, and still offer to assist you in your search and gladly carry your ‘FINDS’ and hold them at the front counter, which allows you to shop worry free. The Simple Finds family of dealers are like a family that love what they do and make this store a unique destination. The staff assist you with all your needs from the smallest decorative item to outfitting an entire space.

Not only does this store showcase a myriad of antique and vintage furnishings and accessories, the dealers also have a wide variety of contemporary everyday items to include beautiful accessories to more current styled furniture items, new pieces, as well as jewelry, furs, lighting, rugs, upcycled and ‘go-green’ items galore.

Simple Finds also offers a consignment service focusing on furniture. The team work with consignors to display their items, creating vignettes, which highlight the many unique items that pass through the store. The inventory changes daily and varies widely, so check in often as you never know when that “Just what I was looking for…” piece will show up. They even have an in-house fur and jewelry boutique called Pelage and have recently started up an Estate Sales Services and Liquidation division.

Its name says it all; “Simple Finds” and they truly want to make it that kind of experience.

Our biggest hurdle was getting our name out as a new start-up company. With the help and involvement from our dealers and consignors alike we have grown Simple Finds into a successful business. The City of Chamblee has been a delight to work with and very supportive of our endeavor.

Blending a traditional dealer mall concept, with that of a conventional consignment store gives everyone the best of both worlds when looking to shop and stretch that almighty dollar!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a great place to do business and very supportive of the small business owner. We are looking at additional locations at this time as part of our expansion plans.

We have added an in-house branded fur and jewelry shop called Pelage Boutique.

We have also started up an estate sales and liquidations services division.

All said, we are optimistic and excited at what the future has in store for us. The key is to ‘not look back’ but always focus forward and grown on past experiences. They are what have made us successful today!
