Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Shoer.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I always wanted to be in news. TV News. I was a reporter in radio, then moved to Atlanta when Ted Turner announced the startup called CNN2, now known as HLN. I spend most of my time at Turner at the original CNN, as producer and executive producer before moving back home to Boston to work in TV there. Along the way, I realized my other passion as an entrepreneur, and became a media consultant, which led to the formation of a syndicated broadcast content company. Today, some 35 years later, my focus is in digital marketing, communication and entrepreneurism. CWI serves video and training content to corporate clients, like Michelin and supports social marketing for franchise location businesses like Retro Fitness. We also guide communications and digital presence for politicians and business leaders. Most recently, I have launched a video series entitled #bOOMzOOM to share the insights of the many extraordinary people who put their heart and soul into doing amazing things every day.
Has it been a smooth road?
The challenge in life and business is that there is always change. The key is to be open to the possible, and never fear the next chapter. There is success and also failure, but obstacles are there to overcome.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Creative Word & Image – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Today, experience is the great differentiator. In a marketplace where everyone claims to be an expert marketer holding the keys to unlock the secrets of success, we pride ourselves on providing clients the advantage of experience, along with a keen creative sense and a vision for embracing the best ways to reach and engage audiences today.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
When I first moved to Atlanta from Boston I described this city as akin to a big town. It was manageable, friendly and easy to get around. A lot has changed since then. Atlanta has not only extended its Metro, but has also grown up at its core to become a true city. I’ve lived inside and outside the perimeter, as far north as Gainesville on Lake Lanier, and currently close in the center of Midtown, Ansley Park. I love that we are becoming more walkable, and what I like least is traffic, which I am fortunate to be able to avoid most of the time.
