Meet Michelle Coleman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Coleman.

Michelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My first retail job was Dots clothing and then, I moved on to a clothing store called Mix and Match and discovered how I talented I was at putting looks together for young ladies. I worked in Mix and Match for eight years and I grew a lot and learned a lot. There was not a day that went by where a customer would tell me how talented I was and how I had an eye for fashion and putting outfits together. In Mix and Match, we were the one-stop shop as I like to say. We had clothes, accessories, and shoes. I was able to help you complete your full after 5 pm attire, back to school look or even your graduation ceremony or party outfit you had to attend. I made sure you had the best look that would turn heads at the party. During my time there I did a lot of networking with Stylist and photographers. A customer also brought me her sewing machine so I could teach myself how to sew, she was a regular customer and she knew I had talent. In fact, I had a lot of regulars at Mix and Match when I’m not at work they wouldn’t want any other employee to help them out , they only wanted me.**I know because my coworkers told me! ** So, I decided to pursue a career in being a Wardrobe Stylist. I went to Georgia State University as an art major because I couldn’t afford to go to a fashion school. So, I followed my mentors advice, who I met at Mix and Match clothing store where I use to work, to just build my company and market myself. I did just that! I made a business plan and got a logo made and started marketing myself! I am now a successful Wardrobe Stylist!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road because business In the fashion world can get slow. With me being an up and coming Wardrobe Stylist, it was hard building clientele and gaining peoples ** trust in my work.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Denisemichellestyles story. Tell us more about the business.
My business has many things under one umbrella. I am a Wardrobe Stylist, Personal Shopper and I offer to revamp closets. As a Wardrobe Stylist, I book for any photoshoots, events or special occasions and help you find the perfect look to turn heads all night long! As a personal shopper, I assist with clientele who has a business life and no time to shop! I shop for back to school looks, office looks or even if the person just wants to change their style in their closet, you name it, I do it! When it comes to revamping closet, some people don’t know how to put outfits together right out of there closet and don’t have the money to go shopping so they hire me to make new looks right out of their closet. I am known for my uniqueness in style and no brand necessary concept. I don’t believe you need the latest brands to stand out, so I don’t focus on brands, I focus on style and what makes you feel and look good! That is what makes me stand out! What I am most proud of as a company is we show customers that they are good enough and with a little style added to their wardrobe, their smile and personality will do the rest!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry traveling worldwide over the next 5-10 years!
