Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Dubin.
Michelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been passionate about food (especially brunch) and photography. After graduating from Georgia College & State University (Go Bobcats!), I moved back home and started exploring the best places to eat brunch in and around Atlanta. I would go to different restaurants and cafes and take photos for my personal account. It wasn’t until my friends and family pushed me to share my photos and recommendations with the world that I decided to start Let’s Brunch ATL (@letsbrunchatl). I started out with a few local spots near my hometown and slowly expanded to cities like Buckhead, Sandy Springs, and other Atlanta neighborhoods. After a few posts, people started asking me for more recommendations, so I decided to keep trying new places and taking more photos.
Over the past ten months, I’ve had so much fun exploring the city, eating and photographing delicious food, and sharing my recommendations. The Atlanta food scene has really blown up within the last few years, so this is such a good time to get out there.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, this adventure has been so much fun! However, I would be lying if I said it’s always easy. Sometimes finding time to get great content can be challenging. It’s a lot to balance at times, but it’s all worth it. I love what I do!
Let’s Brunch ATL – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Let’s Brunch ATL is a place for people to see what amazing brunch places exist in and around Atlanta. I am so passionate about giving my followers a platform to discover where to dine. It puts a smile on my face to know I influenced someone to try something new and different. I really feel like my feed is a true reflection of me in terms of where I eat. I live outside of the perimeter, so I love featuring restaurants in and around my hometown, Duluth. I’ve had so many people say to me “I had no idea there were so many great brunch places near me”. Good food is everywhere and that’s something I really try to share across my feed. It’s like that saying “never forget where you came from”. I started out eating at local spots in my hometown and those places are still a big part of my feed.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I love when people tell me they tried a restaurant I featured on Let’s Brunch ATL! It’s a pretty cool feeling when someone sees my photos and reads my captions and that inspires them to go try a new place to eat.
