Meet Michelle English and Cindy Brooks of Whiskey, Wine and Dine Tours in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle English and Cindy Brooks.

Michelle and Cindy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
What better way to travel the world than through food? Through our love of food, wine, and travel we decided a culinary travel agency would be an ideal way to incorporate all the things we love.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been a smooth road. It can be difficult to find the rights clients for us. It took time and a lot of effort to find our right niche and clientele.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a travel agency and we host a monthly wine tasting class at a local restaurant that is growing every month. At that tasting, we invite a special guest from one of our many travel partners. Guests can come to enjoy a food and wine pairing and ask the guest about their resort or cruise line. Who knows who the guest may be. You could be sitting with a rep from the new Virgin Voyages adults only cruise line or a rep from Sandals resorts or Norwegian cruise line. We have a couple of groups traveling this year. One group is traveling to Cuba at the end of March and another group is going to Alaska in June.

We try to escort most of our groups and incorporate a food or cocktail making, tasting or class in most of our travels. We can also book any individual travel for our guests. We have a big trip planned for 2020. We will be heading to South Africa! This is a trip we are looking forward to and will be escorting our group for the full 11 days. There’s still plenty of time to join us on this, for some, once in a lifetime vacation. We are proud of the way we have been able to grow our following with those who love all things food and wine. Not many travel agencies offer events that incorporate both food and travel and we have been successful in doing so!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up we both were very interested in traveling and were fortunate enough to do so. Cindy was able to travel quite a bit through various college programs. I, (Michelle) had several family members who have traveled the world several times and always encouraged us to do the same. And we did! Every opportunity we had we would catch a flight or pack up the car and hit the road.
