Meet Michelle McIntosh, Stephane Normandeau, and Mike Aldredge of Center Ice Arena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle McIntosh, Stephane Normandeau, and Mike Aldredge.

Center Ice Arena opened in December of 2014.

Stephane, Mike, and Michelle are the owners of Center Ice Arena. They partnered together to create a skating facility in a much needed area. Their passion for the love of skating and hockey lead them to create a great skating environment for many families in the Atlanta community. Sandy Springs for them has been a great city for the growth of figure skating and playing hockey. The city of Sandy Springs was very excited and supportive of their skating facility. All of their programs have seen tremendous growth over the last three years.

Their figure skating program has over 350 students and their youth hockey program has over 200 players, their facility provides ice time six nights a week to the Atlanta Amateur Hockey League which is one of the largest organized men’s hockey league in the U.S. They also host The Atlanta Curling Club and The Atlanta Capitals Junior Hockey Team. Their facility also offers public skating and birthday parties for all ages. Center Ice is well known for their youth hockey and figure skating camps lead by their professional coaches.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a very challenging process to build an ice rink in Atlanta, Georgia. It was very difficult to find a General Contractor with the expertise of building an ice rink in the Southeast of the U.S. We were fortunate enough to bring in an expert from Alberta, Canada. Ralph Goddard with G1 has been involved in the fabrication of over 600 compressor systems around the world. Without Ralph and G1 we could not have built this state of the art facility.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Center Ice Arena – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our business focuses on customer service and a great family environment for all skaters and hockey players of all ages. Center Ice Arena is known for having one of the strongest youth hockey and figure skating programs in Atlanta lead by our figure skating director, Kelly Belin and our Hockey Director/Owner Stephane Normandeau. Our ice rink is open year round and provides public skating and birthday party opportunities on the best ice in Atlanta.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Sandy Springs is a small community with great people who create a positive family atmosphere in our rink. It is challenging at times to get access to our facility with the traffic rush hour.
